Peace everyone.

I need to make this short and sweet. I know how bad of a rep the televagelist Joel Osteen has around most REAL Christian circles. We all know he teaches a feel-good theology and way of life that is contrary to how we should live like Christ. My parents are being brainwashed by him and they are actually swaying me into listening to his "motivational advice" over the fact that I need to "listen to other people in order to move forward". While I agree with that sentiment at its core, I don't want to my current path to be screwed by heresy.

Can you please pray for us?

I'm a fan of his life coaching stuff, I wish he kept religion out of it.

"Move forward" into what? Why? You can't learn everything on your own (I'm not going to say you don't need to listen to other people, that's not true, everyone learns from other people) but you can only learn things that are actually valuable from certain people. Everyone that has something to say and their message is not of equal value - or necessarily of any value at all*. So don't fall for that. You need to discern what people are saying and learn from truly wise people, not just any and everyone that has something to say.

That's true and thanks for the tip.

Sorry btw since you didn't explicitly ask for advice, I tend to do that. Grin
