Though I've embraced most of the core teachings of the church, I'm still struggling with one very much. I would like to ask for your prayers to enable not to resist what the church teaches. I'm feeling very anxious about this as I've been trying to think it through for a few weeks.

Thank you in anticipation of your kind prayers.

Lord have mercy on your handmaiden Dyhn!  Grant her patience, and the grace of your faith to dispel all doubts.

Dyhn, I was just thinking about you this week and wondering how you are doing! I know we came from a similar faith background, so PM me if you need to talk about any of that.

Lord, have mercy!

Lord have mercy!

It might help if you would share what that one things is with those orthodox you feel comfortable with as well as continue to pray about it so the Holy Spirit might give you the necessary grace to help you with this struggle as you are doing now. God bless you!

Thank you everyone. It wouldn't help to share it as I don't want to be a stumbling block others here who I know in person.

Prayer will help I am sure.

you are a wise person dear, I did not mean that you have to share it here, however,in private with those you are comfortable with as there are priests and theologians who have a solid grasp of things and would not be surprised or judgemental about the things you might have to tell them. ultimately it is the Holy Spirit who works both ways, that opens your heart and that provides the guide. God be with you my dear.

I did not accept everything at first, even after being chrismated.  It came down to just being able to trust the Church, and being open to grace.  And it helped that the Seven Ecumenical Councils had proved themselves, which left only Orthodoxy.

When my Protestant understanding of the Bible was shattered by atheists, I really had no other option but to trust the Church.

As I said before, it's the whole conforming yourself into Christ. As St. Paul says, "it is no longer I but Christ who lives in me". The Church is a hospital for sinners, it's there to help save your soul. If there is something you may not understand, leave it up to God.
