She used to sleep on spalls of broken dream, under cover of eternal sadness. In dreams she searched forgotten paths, walking through cold autumn gardens of dark memories. She used to find miserable shelter in their dead fallen leaves. Thousands of years only cold winds sang to her, freezing her tears and cutting her face with marble pieses of ice. Hundreths of years only rains washed upon her wounds. She never saw the sun, just bloody glimmer sometimes burnt on far grey sky above high black trees. She never heard the words, just ghosts whispered to her about hopes and bliss... But she never understood them, she didn`t know what hopes like... That was a first winter morning after thousands years of grey autumn. Last leaves turned into dust. She slept on black ground and snow covered her with white petals. She knew, it`s the end. Spring never comes here. And she closed her eyes. Suddenly she felt quiet warmth`s touching her body. Grey light broke into infinity of bright rays. "What is it?... Death?... I never knew you`re so beautiful... I Love you... " She whispered, never knowing word love. No... Not Death... " And she opened her eyes. Saw someone, standing near and smiling. He sat next to her. "I learnt what the sun is... Ghosts didn`t lie. It exists. It`s his eyes. Full of kindness and tenderness." He sees her wounds. Takes her slim hand. Few pure tears run on his face and fall on her scars. "He`s beautiful... " But she hears noiseless laugh of cruel cold behind her. "Do you believe him? Look at yourself. With so broken soul, you`ll never heal your wounds." She looks at him once more. Fog of doubts and fears hides his shape. "Who... Are you?.. He`s here to save me... " - Stand up and we will go... - I cant... Can`t even move.... Her whisper becomes and lower. "Will you take me on your arms? Are your wings strong enough to carry two?.."
You are shine of silence among wild flame, Your hands like tender silk heal my bleeding soul. Nets of night shadows and innocence of morning sun, Snow purity and fiery nobleness are in your eyes, so clear as waters of northern lakes. I`m looking for peace in your embrace. I hear quiet lisp of wings behind your back... Night... Pieces of memories and bright street lights... Your face... And soft smile... And few words. Joy by beautiful warmth overflows my soul. Do you see, my darling? How happy am I... If i only could put down all this world to your feet. You`re like starry sky above us... Full of beauty and grace of sorrow. Of Fire and Calmness. Of Love and Peace. I fear to touch to you, to flaming marble of your heart. You are tender as quiet angel of hopes. You are beautiful as ancient legends about eternal love. You... Love against insensibility of death. Light amidst the cold of darkness...

Loneliness was early planted within my soul... Deep, deep, deep within my heart's soil it was sown. And the Lord God said, "It is not good for man to be alone."
That which has been revealed belongs to us... That which is hidden from our purview Doesn't really either belong to me or you.
We plan our futures in time... We reconcile the past with the present To help our future know when and where to arrive.
Adam knew loneliness before Eve, But Eve's loneliness did not come until after the fall. Loneliness is the Cross we share
From Paradise Man fled in that first explusion We took from the earth's withering grass and tried to build Paradise again. But the house came down and our hearts was crushed therein..
Prayers once offered together like the new green leaf have fallen like autumn into my soulful grief. What God has joined together let no man tear apart.
But the Psalmbird sang, "I love a broken heart." And Paradise was lost again.

Courteous is my name, and I have always aimed to live up to it. Grace is also my name, but when things go wrong its Courteous whom I blame; but its Grace who sees me through it.

We cannot legislate morality by passing laws controlling firearms. The only evil we can combat lies within our hearts. We need stronger laws to protect the moral foundation of society against the evil of gay marriage.

I am glad that it was resurrected for I would have never read those two lovely poems. I wonder what happened to Gabrielle.
BTW, Orthonorm, regarding your post "outsanest threadsurrection ever," are you channeling Sheldon or Barney?

I think he's channeling three or four people at once.
This will be hard to top.

Loneliness, loneliness Deep in my heart Deep in my soul I am so lonely I look at the starry sky I contemplate on the endlessness of winter in my lonely soul And tears roll down my frozen cheeks But then I recall That I haven't yet graded A Microbiology quiz Due tomorrow for three laboratory sections And that I have to find Some extra ropes That my students will need for their pig dissection exercise In their Anatomy and Physiology class And that The sink in my bathroom Is clogged And that my salary is so ridiculously low And There are no more tears I am back to life Real life My only real life In this fallen world That I have an obligation to transform This only one real and fallen world By showing it the love of Christ Even when grading my Microbiologyquiz So I am happy And I thank God And I do not look At the endless starry sky Any more

Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more. A hasty quarrel kindles fire, and urgent strife sheds blood. If you blow on a spark, it will glow; if you spit on it, it will be put out; and both come out of your mouth

dear Lord! very deep, devastatingly beautiful and terrifying,Oh Gabrielle, I pray she is well. Zoarthegleaner, beautiful as well in its depth as well as in its insight. really superb! Heorhij beautifully hopeful and resilient quoting zoarthegleaner, I like to say its a cross we all share, and I thank God yours is lighter or you found a way to carry it so it wont crush you. yet all our pains are real for us, although the intensity varies. I keep mind an Ethiopian proverb that says," a child whose mom died and a child whose mom went to the market cry alike."

Hiwot, I am sorry. I am just deaf to modern poetry in English. It does not reach me at all. I was brought up on a completely different poetic tradition. As for the cross, I agree that mine is lighter than the one many other people bear, - but I have to say that only I am a judge of how heavy my cross feels to me. And whether I cry because my mother died or went to the market, again, I believe it's something only I know.
