My pet peeve: People demanding that they receive an apology when they've been wronged. An apology given merely to get someone else off my back or because someone coerced it out of me is no apology at all. Trust me and give me the chance to offer an apology freely. It will mean a lot more.

It's the mentally ill attempting to insult the mentally healthy by calling them 'sane'. There are a lot of other examples of this particular phenomenon.

Plus in that instance they can't even be consistent. They say gender is a social construct, which means gender has no reality outside social convention, but then they try to claim that such and such got assigned the "wrong" gender at birth, as if it's possible to talk about right or wrong gender before socialization has had a chance to occur.

When someone says "contrite" like it means the same thing as "trite."

I find it safest to just ask people what sex organs they were born with. There are now so many gender identities out there that it overwhelms me.

Peeve: I despise Western cartoons that ape the conventions of comedic anime, like doing the "sweat drop" thing when someone is embarrassed, inserting a chimp noise when they're startled, or using chibi characters in cutaway segments.  Examples would be that horrid Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon or the even worse Teen Titans Go!.

Hypocrisy. I hate working in the hipster town of Emeryville/Oakland where the same hipsters who pay lip service to concepts like charity and helping the poor are the first ones demand that security have homeless people removed from the outside of their luxury apartments just for scavenging through the dumpsters. They are literal Lazaruses at your doorstep and you won't even let them look through your garbage. Detestable. I remember once when the boss herself was sent out to tell the homeless people to leave and they all started calling her white devil and neo-Nazi, which is kind of funny because she was a German immigrant and was being mean to them. I just tell them to clean up their mess afterward.

Peeve: People on these boards who hold post-after-post conversations with themselves in order to keep their lame thread with a dull premise alive when it's obvious that no one is interested.  Worse are the apes who get all indignant and say, "Aw, c'mon!  No one?  Really?!?" and throw a fit when they don't get any bites.  It's even more irksome when the post is intended a joke, it falls flat, and they get all pissy and affronted and say, "Now c'mon!  That was funny!".  No, loser.  It wasn't.  It really wasn't.

The words "boots on the ground".

One of my priest's pet peeves is people lighting candles during the sermon.  He will not tolerate it.

Pet peeve #268: That I can't ever fathom how pebbles get in my sneakers. Seriously, there's like 1/4" room at most, and that's forcing my finger in there, plus I don't kick up many pebbles, plus it'd have to somehow angle roughly straight up and in the direction of the foot. *shrugs*

OCD #42: I see, or notice, the number 736 more often than it seems like it should randomly come up. (736 possibly had significance to me when I was younger, but none now). Assuming it's not something crazy--like a member of the Q continuum messing with me; or my being in the matrix and the number being a glitch ( :P )--it would  seem to be a combination of:

- I notice it more than other numbers because I have (without intending to) trained/conditioned myself to do so

- I am more likely to consciously note and dwell on noticing it, rather than forgetting it a second later

- It is more likely to be remembered long term--if not as a particular instance, then at least as part of a cumulative feeling/belief due to seeing it over and over

- humans seek out patterns and explanations for seemingly random things, which partly fuels this

This is common to people who are in a corrections/security/law enforcement field.

1) Long nails, and toe nails. Not the nicely filed almond tips the ladies get. I mean the ridiculously long ones, or the ones that speak 'I am planning to rip my socks when I wear them.' Good gravy, makes me want to go mad with a file.
2). Being asked a question, and then not listening to the answer. Then of course they end up ruining whatever they were doing and it's my fault (no customer, it's not).

How would it be done, or why? For the former I hadn't really thought about it; for the latter, while I meant it mostly in jest, I was also just expressing my frustation (peeving?) about the string of negative news stories about (mostly) fraternities.

If white people were not people, were causing harm, and were providing no benefit that can't be better provided elsewhere, then of course, obviously we should eliminate them.

Correct.
It better resembles Mayberry via the Beverly Hillbillies, than Mitchell's GWTW that's for sure.

Here's another: People who can't dress themselves in public, and then get angry at you when you remind them they must wear shoes, shirt, and trousers in public buildings. (honestly, why would you want to do that in a public library? If you saw what hits these floors...)

Peeve: Jimmy Fallon.  If there was one celebrity I could challenge to a no holds barred cage fight, it'd be him.
I'm with the camp of 13 million Americans that believe politicians are, or are controlled by, Reptilians. I think only monks can solve this problem. It doesn't seem right that they prefer to ignore it.

Jimmy Fallon truly blows. Mediocrity incarnate. Everything he does ends up being some sort of celebrity circle jerk.

Peeve: How annoying Microsoft can be. I want OneDrive, not SkyDrive! I download the app, go to install it, and nada. Well, I'll figure it out or manage. And lest anyone say get Apple, no way. Pet peeve 2: IPhone and Apple in general.
