Orthodox readers who overrate authors like Dostoevsky for example. They're just average at best.
Have you ever read an average author?

People who don't take sound advice.

"I got an email that I won the Irish sweepstakes!  $500,000!"
"Did you play?"
"Well, no."
"Yeah, that's a scam."
"Uh, let me get a second opinion."

For a mere 1% of that sweepstake amount, I am able to verify whether or not the sweepstate is authentic.  5k is a great deal for the peace of mind.
God bless!

So a student's parent came in last night and would not stop touching her cold sore. For the love all that is good, please stop this!!!

Did she touch you?  The herp has to touch you on an open sore...it's still gross, though.

Perps only go to jail if caught.  Twerp rhymes with burp.  So, this twerp perp with herp goes burp and ooops, ends up in jail.  The moral.  Herp is contagious.  Do not catch it.

You know what's a pet peeve of mine?  Zombies.  They are soooooooooooo annoying!  And OCD?  I can't walk by a zombie without hitting it with a bowling pin at least five times.  Can anyone relate?

I mentioned in another thread that for as long as I can recall,  I have insisted on using green toothbrushes. They work better than other colours. Might not be exactly OCD, but close enough.

When I have two browser windows open, I tell browser one to load a new page (usually my homepage), I immediately switch to browser two to do something... and then two seconds later my computer switches me back to browser one. If I wanted to wait and see browser one then obviously I wouldn't have switched.

Also, sometimes when I close a browser window it will refresh some or all of my other open browser windows. So annoying.

(Yes I use IE. No I won't change. Yes I've tried other browsers. No I won't try again. Yes I'm an idiot. No you don't have to say it.)

Intellectual dishonesty

Nothing aggravates me more than straw men, cheap shots, witticisms that supplant rational substance, and blatant mischaracterizations of someone's opinion or viewpoint. I'm all for criticism, critiques, and justified condemnations; but intentional intellectual dishonesty irks me to no end.

OCD #27: Checking to make sure I have my debit card when I go out. I don't carry a wallet, just the stuff I'll need. And I don't want to get to the store only to find out that I don't have the card, so I tend to make sure I have the right card, put it in my pocket, wait 30 seconds, pull everything out, make sure I have the right card again, put it back in my pocket, and so forth (several more times). It's the only card that's green and has my bank's name on it, why do I need to keep looking at it?  ::) ;D

This problem has worsened slightly in the last year and a half. I still check that I have my phone, ID, debit card, bus pass, etc., but now the feeling that I need to check again and again is more intense.

I've also become mildly OCD in other ways, such as needing X to be PERFECTLY straight or organized, even when Y, Z, A, etc. are all a mess in the same room. But it doesn't matter--I feel compelled to fix X. For example that book over there is not straight in line with the book beneath it. It is 1/8" off. I must fix this. I will not be able to focus on anything else until I do. I've even taken to straightening magazines or business cards or whatever when I'm out in public.

Quite annoying. Especially since I'm not even a neat freak.

The other OCD thing I have is saving my work on the computer. I will hit save multiple times in a row. What, did I think the first attempt at saving the text didn't work or something?  :-\

Pet peeve #410: Why do I have to give my card info every time I want to pay my Comcast bill? Amazon (for example) has managed to keep that kind of thing on file for like 10 years now.

Pet peeve #49: When people say "It's not bragging if it's true" or "It's not arrogant if you can back it up" to excuse a certain type of attitude. No. It is arrogant, and it is bragging, if you are doing it in a certain way (ya know, an arrogant or braggardly way). And that's fine. Whatever. Apparently you can do something special. Good for you. Don't pretend that you're humble about it though.

Now, now.  Don't be mad that people are more humble than you and want you to know it.

Sorry, but being in the muddle class in the midwest I find the false humility here to be utter nonsense. People get uncomfortable when I make reasonable statements about the abilities of myself or others.

Bragging is to make a loud noise. I usually don't, cause when people disagree I almost always to their chagrin offer to place my money where my mouth is. Their voices are typically the ones who get loud after being shown short.

And not being honest about your abilities or those of others is not being humble. Remaining silent when you have something to offer and not being willing to fight to exercise that ability is a disservice to that gift which anyone who knows who is gifted has nothing to do with themselves.

Nothing is more arrogant than what typically passes as humility around where I find myself.

It would claim a flame that is not there and to make a show of placing it under a bushel.

I have problems with Netflix, but for this post I want to give them some praise. I appreciate how easy it is to cancel and restart memberships with them. You don't have to put googles of information in every time you want to do something, and you don't have to go through an endurance test of counter offers and alternative deals. Want to cancel it? Click a couple buttons and that's it. Want to start it again? Click a couple more buttons.

Pet peeve #1034: Real estate websites, which seem to work really hard at keeping information from you. Maybe your average buyers just don't want to know things like street addresses, lot size, property taxes, price, etc., or have pictures to look at? What are these real estate agents paid to do again?
