People that don't like accents. ::)  In this example, "accents" = not speaking the way you do.

In the Netherlands they even have Frisian tv and Limburgish newspapers...  ;)

Huh?  Nobody speaks the way I do---usually in a very tiny font, all lower-case letters.  Otherwise known as "small talk". ;D

I suppose there are riots in the streets because of this.

Pet peeve #454: When the local bus drivers threaten to go on strike, listing as a major reason that the buses are in disrepair and unsafe. I mean, the buses are not well maintained, that's true. But seeing as how at least half the bus drivers don't seem to care about passenger safety when operating their vehicles, it seems like a fairly hypocritical complaint. In the past few months alone I have twice had to grab an elderly person to keep them from falling because the bus driver didn't wait for them to get seated before taking off. I guess a few broken hips is worth it if they get an extra minute for their smoke break.  >:(

When asked what faith someone is and the answer is, "I'm spiritual."

Also, after calling a man "sir" as in "Excuse me, sir," I get the response, "I'm not a sir.  I work for a living!"  ::) ::) ::)

I get really annoyed by the praise song Fields of Grace.  Of course, I don't know why anyone would accept any theological constructs from a band called Big Daddy Weave.

Quote
There's a place that I love to run and play
There's a place that I sing new songs of praise

Dancing with my Father God in fields of Grace

There's a place that I lose myself within
There's a place I find myself again

Dancin' with my Father God in fields of Grace

There's a place where religion finally dies
There's a place that I lose my selfish pride

Dancin' with my Father God in fields of Grace

I love my Father, my Father loves me
I dance for my Father, my Father sings over me
and nothing can take that away from me

Dancin' with my Father God in fields of Grace

God bless!

It really depends, Cyrillic.  Most of the time, I would agree it's not attractive, but it really depends.

Or Frisian for that matter. I mean, after reading about Pier Gerlofs Donia (Warning! NSFW Language), I would probably think twice before messing with a Frisian.

Hey, now...these Frisians look very cute and intelligent, not mention friendly and cuddly.  Now, were you to mess with them, maybe they'd refuse to fetch you a duck or something  ;D

I prefer women with long hair, but some women look great with short hair.  It depends on how they cut and style it.

When introduced properly, my dogs are very kind to other dogs.  There may be a language barrier, though.

I've been searching for years for the lost Esperanto speakers.  My quest has taken me to the far corners of the universe.  My only conclusion, to date, is that Esperanto, like any living language, has changed and streamlined into the canine "Woof".  So, in answer to your inquiry....dogs.

I will have to try using Esperanto with my dogs then.

Lanugo! = Down!= Platz!
Sitelo! = Sit! = Sitz!
Heredi! = Here! = Hier!

Nope, I'll stick with English or with the much friendlier German.

Does anyone still use Esperanto?  I wanted to learn it when I heard about it as a kid, but I never did.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto#Classification
According to Wikipedia between 100,000 to 2 million people actively use it. Also, this:

Quote
The Institute of Cybernetic Pedagogy at Paderborn (Germany) has compared the length of study time it takes natively French-speaking high-school students to obtain comparable 'standard' levels in Esperanto, English, German, and Italian.[41] The results were:

2000 hours studying German = 1500 hours studying English = 1000 hours studying Italian (or any other Romance language) = 150 hours studying Esperanto.
Not bad when learning a language.  But realistically, you are more than likely to run into someone who speaks English or French in many places around the world rather than Esperanto.
Happy shall he be, that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock. Alleluia.

People who just cross the street without looking if a car is coming. You can stop yourself quicker before a person can stop a car! A street is not a sidewalk - look before crossing! And please don't take your time - again, it's NOT a sidewalk!

Moms who have just had their first baby and are suddenly loudly opinionated about parenting, nutrition, breastfeeding, education, etc.

What is it with converts to parenthood?  They almost sound like our converts.  :P
Mor Ephrem is a nice guy.  Just say sorry and it will all be ok. Say I had things that were inside troubling me but I didn't know how to express appropriately. I will not behave that way again but I am seeking help.

I reject all that I wrote that isn't in accordance with the teachings of the Orthodox Church. Also, my posts reflect my opinions (present or former) and nothing else.

People who behave as if they are doing a dramatic reenactment of Hamlet when they read.  :D

Orthodox readers who overrate authors like Dostoevsky for example. They're just average at best.
