The long-running television series 'Doctor Who' is headed for the silver screen. At the helm will be David Yates, who directed the last four Harry Potter films.

From the article:
Quote
"We're going to spend two to three years to get it right. It needs quite a radical transformation to take it into the bigger arena," he said.

"Russell T. Davies and then Steven Moffat have done their own transformations, which were fantastic, but we have to put that aside and start from scratch," he said.

I am not going to tell Mr. Ismi about it until they actually start filming!  Cheesy

Is there anything that doesn't suck?

Once upon a time there was a good show called Doctor Who. Then the 80's happened.

And I actually really liked the first 3 Harry Potter movies.

Eww! The first three were awful and I assumed for years that latter parts were as bad as them. Suprisingly and fortunately the latter ones seemed to get better at every step. Looking forward to see the last one.

I should be more specific. John Nathan Turner happened.

They were fun, humorous, cute, pretty colors, etc. The third one was especially well done. The latter movies are just dreary, they feel rushed and prepackaged like a lot of franchises that have gone too long. And the half-assed attempt of introducing sexuality just adds to the lameness (funnily this latter remark can also be applied to the new Doctor Who- how did we get from some old curmudgeon traveling time and space with his granddaughter to some cute boy-toy impregnating space babes?)

I think the changes in Dr. Who happened on the TV show, and can be blamed on the writers or producers of the show. I, too, prefer the earlier to middle seasons.

Well for that I can agree. Sexuality in most of the mainstream movies is extremely lame and that applies also to the Potter movies. They would do better without it.
