The well-known chant ensemble Capella Romana will hold a concert in Tillamook, Oregon. The show is scheduled for next Tuesday.

From the article:
Quote
Many people are familiar with Gregorian chant, but there is an older form of singing praises and hymns to God from the Orthodox tradition known as Byzantine chant, dating as far back as the 5th century. This is the genre for which Cappella Romana is recognized as "The world's preeminent early-music vocal group," (Portland Monthly Magazine). The Wall Street Journal exclaimed, "Byzantium lives on . . . thanks to Cappella Romana."

They'll be in Medford, OR on the 18th.  I can't wait to see them.  I used to sing with a couple of the members when I lived in Portland.
