I suppose some individuals who live far away from the nearest church, and/or have a lot of money, may be interested in doing that. I'm certainly not rolling in cash, but I had always hoped to one day have a place where I could convert a room into a study for quiet reading and prayer.  Smiley

My priest is a carpenter and turned the original chapel that he built into what later became our church. There were no Orthodox churches for miles and miles, and so 16 years later it's a thriving (although small) center of Orthodoxy in rural Arkansas.
