It seems as though I'm being ruled and controlled by my anger problem.  Please pray that I can eventually learn to deal with life's irritations big and small.  Thanks.

May the Lord have mercy upon you, my friend, and grant you strength - both physical and spiritual!

Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.

Lord, have mercy!

“But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either.” +Luke 6:27-29

Lord, have mercy!

I have this problem, too. Sometimes I react to a statement that I do not like, and my reaction becomes an angry one even if I did not intend it to be angry.

Indeed, like Fr. Chris once said (I don't remember, was it in our private conversation or on the OC.net forum), "when you suspect that your reaction will be angry, "sleep on it." Abstain from reacting until the next day. When I began to follow this rule, I noticed how greatly it helps me overcome my Irish temperament."

Love never fails.

Lord, have mercy.

I believe in One God, maker of heaven and earth and of all things visible and invisible.
