Largest Face of Christ in the Western Hemisphere: Mosaic at Holy Trinity Cathedral, SF : St. George.

This documentary provides a comprehensive look at the process of creating the largest mosaic face of Jesus Christ in the Western Hemisphere, this documentary will tell the story of how Holy Trinity’s Pantocrator finally became a reality, becoming one of San Francisco’s treasured landmarks.

I had never seen a dome being constructed.

It was quite an interesting video clip.

Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.

Largest Mosaic of Christ in Western Hemisphere

I can't be the only one who reads that and wonders.... where's the largest in both hemispheres? I tried searching but didn't really get anywhere.

Fr Dcn Matthew (now Hieromonk Ireneaus), who appears briefly in the video, has posted his own pictures of the cathedral mosaics on monachos:

(I think you have to be a member and signed in to view the pics, unfortunately).
