Dear Friends,
Kim (whose birthday it is today, so PM her!), Donna, and myself are going down to North Carolina tomorrow morning in order to visit Rob, Frobie, Clint (ByzantineClint, of Summerfest fame), and David, on the occasion of Rob's reception into the Eastern Orthodox Church. Please remember us in your prayers as we travel that all may go well with us. Thank you.

Psalms 91:4-7
"He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.

Now where were we? Oh yeah - the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn’t have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...

I received a call from Pope Phil and Kim Bellucci tonight and they have arrived safely back. Everybody had a great time in the Deep South, but I sure do miss them.

Just wanted to thank everyone who came to NC for my reception into the Church.
Especially David, my godfather, Phil, Kim, and big hearts to Donna.
It meant so much to have you all here on an event that was so special.

By the waterssss of Cary we wept, When we thought of White Plains....
On the willows at Extended Stay America, Regency Park, we hung up our harps...how could we sing the Triangle's song in an alien land? If I forget you, O Cary, let my right hand wither...We got back around 10pm last night, tired but safe. I miss Rob, Frobisher, and Clint terribly. And it was awesome to finally meet David and hang out with him, even if only for a little while. And my usual sobriety in church was overcome by joy at seeing Rob embrace the Orthodox Faith we believe and profess: it felt like Pascha. I believe I can safely say an incredible time was had by all; at least that's how I feel. I'll be seeing the pictures tonight with the EG, but it just won't be the same...I want to go back!

HEY she's more than an EG to you buddy! and my feeble pics (feeble in comparison to Kim's near-professional pics) will be available at the end of the week - I am getting them put on a disk at the local Cary Walmart so I can share them on the computer. and after the festivities have ended, the sun has come out. tis ashame it rained all weekend, but i think we did pretty good for ourselves in the rain, with much fun had by all. i'm in Cary til Friday morning when i fly back, so please prayers for my safe return when Friday rolls around (hopefully not for a while)

On the willows at Extended Stay America, Regency Park... Been there. That's a great place to stay - no frills like a restaurant or room service but who needs them? You've got a clean, comfy room with decent plumbing, a kitchen to cook for yourself or keep things in the fridge, and even cable! A bargain. At the other end of the spectrum the Best Western in Raleigh sucks.

Ann and I both had a great time hanging out with you at Carolina Barbecue even if y'all yankee invaders cannot fathom the depths of sweet tea. Looking forward to saving the pics. Muah!

Sorry, James, I didn't see your reply until now. It wasn't as crazy as you would think, mostly rain of varying amounts. Of course that made driving on the half-constructed interstates crazy, but I digress...

Congratulatons Rob on your reception into the Church, but you've heard that from me already It was a magnificent week that we had down there, in spite of the rain, and I miss you all terribly! When I get to my apartment in Albany next week I will have a scanner with my computer and will post the pictures that I have. Plus a picture of the "Three Holy Hierarchs"! Ah, what fun (And it was right to scold you, Mor, I'm Frobisher's EG, but I'm your RG ) Prayers, Donna, for your safe return. Kim

Phil,
Guess there is little I can do for you, nothing worse then a man on a leash, especially a short one, arghh..............
james
ps- after 27 years the leash is gone, in fact I get chased out quite often, can't figure them out after all this time, guess they are constantly in a state of "flux".

Well, the last of the travellers south has arrived home...after waking up at the inhumane time of 3:45 am, a bleary-eyed Cap'n drove me to the airport to catch a 5:50 am flight (did u know they made flights that early???)...and now i am home, and in much need of sleep in my comfy bed. Thank you for prayers for my safe return...and the trip was amazing ...and i miss robert sigh. g'nite!
