The continuing economic crisis in Greece has led increasing numbers of people to consider
the worst: ending it all. With many unable to afford basic needs such as rent and food, it can seem as if there is no hope. Health professionals and hotlines are under greater pressure than ever.

Last month the Greek Minister for Health, Andreas Loverdos, reported that suicides may have increased by as much as 40% in the first few months of 2011.
