Greetings in that Divine and Most Precious Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

I'd say that Oregon has the best Porters and dark Ales.

California still has the best American IPAs and other malty brews like from Mendocino or San Diego (even LA has a few really great local beers), and Colorado seems to have the Belgian-style and the Wheat Ales..

Honorable mentions Wisconsin and New England for American Ales, but the fruity-malty-hoppy explosion is West Coast like the offense of the 49erz!!

stay blessed,

Yeah, I see lots of Oregon labels whenever I go to the store that has all the good beers. Which I need to visit when I get paid the end of this week.  ;)

Actually, that was a Double Bastard Ale, made by the same Stone Brewery. 11.6% alcohol by volume

An even stronger beer I've seen in local stores is He'Brew Sweet 16 Ale, which, as the name suggests, is 16% alcohol by volume.

Oh my goodness, just saw this topic!  I'm a fan of beer!

I used to like Zywiec, now I find it too strong.  Tyskie is a bit lighter but still tasty.  Heineken is one of my absolute favorites.  I like Sam Adams seasonals - "winter" is heavenly; "Alpine spring" is delicious.  I like Defiant (a local NY state brewery) and their "Christmas".  Grolsh is good; St. Pauli's girl is good.  Palm is great but can be too strong on an empty stomach - and I like my beers on an empty stomach.  Get out of the office hungry and tired - and let the cold foamy stream of deliciousness out of an icy cold mug fill you up!

Alpo, you're awesome.

A few days ago I've had some Rochefort 10. It was very nice, although it was a very slow drink with the strong taste and the 11% alcohol. It definitely is one of the better beers out there. But heavens, it was expensive.

Great thread!

My favorite beer is the beer my wife brews. Outside that, Belgian beer is best.

My favorites and tastes lighten and darken with the seasons.

It is still mostly warm and humid in Pennsylvania so I am still enjoying Goose Island IPA, which is the one brew from a can that I like.  Otherwise I'm a bottle-only guy.

But soon it is time for the Oktoberfest brews:  Stoudts and Becks top my list.

Then as we approach the solstice Troegs Troegenator and Mad Elf top the list.

that’s not a bad beer at all. Binny’s Used to carry it but for unknown reasons stopped.  And then there is the famous Taybeh brewery impossible to find in the US.

I still have yet to taste a good IPA. There are so many craft breweries today. That I just can't see myself spending time and money trying to figure out what is good. The best way is at tasting events.  Until than I'll stick to Heineken
And Corona.

I hate beer, but I love lambic, which the men in my life insist counts as beer.

I can't even tell you how many picky drinkers I've converted with this. It is absolutely delicious and amazing and I've stopped drinking the commercialized sugary drinks because of it. I am sola lambic (with the occasional champagne, white wine, and hard cider thrown in).

I'll put Mr. Ismi's favorites, since he is a beer lover. Hailing from Boston, he remains loyal to Sam Adams. He also likes Yuengling and St. Pauli's Girl....and the case of Czech beer that my father brings him every time he visits. ;) (Can't remember which two types they are, though). However, he tries new stuff all the time and so I don't really know what his favorites are at the moment. But if he's defaulting, it's usually Sam Adams.

I went to a beer festival in Peoria ill, and was introduced to Lambic, I agree it is very good, but also has a lot of sugar.
My favorite is BUD, not the beer. Alcohol has never been something I care about. BUd that you smoke is another story.
The Lord gathers his sheep, I fear I am a goat. Lord have mercy.

This local witbier native from Rio with notes of lemon and cilander is probably my favourite one. Beers of the same level of quality are always imports, which makes them much more expensive, so I don't think I ever had one. The Belgian imported witbier Hoegaarden is much appreciated here, but Praya is superior and stays hors councors.

This cheaper coffee-blended stout will always have a special place in my heart though. Urban legend says it has bull blood in the recipe. Some people mix it with raw eggs and peanuts, claiming it to be a powerful aphrodisiac and even medicine.

In these post-Festal days:  Troeg's Mad Elf

"Ale brewed with honey and cherries--once a year"

11% ABV

Wicked, aye?

Haven't had that in a few years.  It is very good.
Happy shall he be, that shall take and dash thy little ones against the rock. Alleluia.

Once Christ has filled the Cross, it can never be empty again.
