For those of you who think our country's young people and public schools are lacking, here is a refreshing story...

"Katy Harbist, a high school senior at Moon Area High School and a member of the Carpatho-Rusyn Society's Pittsburgh Chapter, decided that as a senior service project, she would spearhead a fund drive for the St. Nicholas Children's Home in Medzilaborec, Slovakia. This apostolate of the Presov Orthodox diocese has been a focal point of the humanitarian efforts of Archon Michael Kundrat  of St. Michael's Orthodox Church of Binghamton, NY (ACROD)  over the years to provide for the needs of the children who live there.
Can one person make a difference? Well, this high school senior sure did! Katy designed and implemented a Merchandise Bingo for the St. Nicholas Home. When it was all said and done, she had raised $12,532 for the Children's Home! Make a Difference Day is October 27, but this young girl was way ahead of her time."

And, FYI, this young woman is a communicant at a Pittsburgh area Byzantine Catholic Church and she also spent several weeks volunteering at the Children's Home last supper. Many Years!

Our youth continue to show us the path.  Our kids are quite capable if the adults will just get out of the way.

What's so good about Cincinnati? You like it? You think Cincinnati is cool? I've never heard anyone say, 'I'm going to Cincinnati on vacation.'
