What are they?

I think Wikipedia puts it a lot better than I can:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotary_International

Basically it's a group (club) of business people that 'rotate' in doing service for the community, hence the name 'Rotary'.

I don't see why not - but honestly, I don't know much more about than asking my husband who is affiliated with a lot of the clubs in the area.  I don't think creed plays a factor. . . but I'll ask him to make sure.

Not that I'm aware of.  . . they are more along the lines of the Lion' Club.  I donMt think they are affiliated with any religion.

As others have said, the Rotary Club is a group of business owners within a community that come together to serve the community. They are not a secret organization, their meetings are open, and they don't have any secret handshakes. They are not affiliated with any religious organization. It's just a group of business owners coming together to help others. :)

My boyfriend was able to go to Japan for six months as an exchange student while in High School, due to a Rotary Club scholarship.
