I was recently hired as a substitute teacher. A million trainings and registrations later and I have my first assignment tomorrow (it goes for the next 3 days.) I'm really nervous about it.

Prayers, please.

Lord have mercy. Don't worry- as long as the kids aren't killing each other and some semblance of the lessons plans gets taught, you'll be okay (I'm a sub too).

Lord, have mercy!

Just relax and have fun!  The kids will tune in to your optimistic energy and will open up to you.

Greetings in that Divine and Most Precious Name of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!

Its way more fun then you'll ever think possible, trust me.  Substituting is like all the fun of teaching without all the boring and endless staff meetings, office hours, grading, paperwork, evaluations etc etc Wink

ps.. internal prayers are very effective classroom management, I couldn't count the number of times God has come through with the pinch hit for me

stay blessed,

Thanks for the prayers! I survived the 3rd grade class from Hades (seriously, the class was out of control ) and due to very strange circumstances they ended up with another teacher's students (so I assisted her). Everything thing that could go wrong, did. Thankfully no one was harmed and there were no hurt feelings.  police

I'm a sub, too. I've had a few classes from Hades as well! The good part is, at the end of the day, you have no marking, no planning, no parents to call, and you can just shake it all off and move on. A subs day is done at the last bell! Some days can be rather fun, too. But some days.......................................

I hope tomorrow goes better for you!

I pray that my kind is not among your first class.

I am sure you will do fine!
