The Grand Duke's Turbo Sleigh by D. T. Adolphus
« on: October 13, 2011, 06:48:59 PM »
In the November 2011 edition of Hemmings Motor News, there appears an interesting article about Grand Duke Cyril Vladimirovich's Turbo Sleigh, which was built in 1910.

The author obviously is not an Orthodox Christian. Read this excerpt. Can you find the glaring error he made? :D

Quote
Racing boat builders Despujois constructed the wood-bodied machine, and Gregoire may have built several more; later on, they showed one on their stand. ... Afterwards, two popes of the Russian Orthodox Church performed a blessing of the machine on the Isle de la Jatte with Grand Duchess Victoria, as shown on the left.

The memory of God should be treasured in our hearts like the precious pearl mentioned in the Holy Gospel. Our life's goal should be to nurture and contemplate God always within, and never let it depart, for this steadfastness will drive demons away from us. - Paraphrased from St. Philotheus of Sinai

Interesting that Hemming Motor News would discuss a wooden turbo sleigh.

The builder even claimed that it had fuel injection and afterburners.  ::)

However, nothing has been heard of this sleigh since the Revolution . . .

If you mean the "popes" part, priests are/were called popes in Russia. :)

Really?

I know that the Coptic Patriarch is called a Pope, but priests in Russia too?
