A close friend of mine is in the hospital with a severe infection in his leg.  Late this last winter he took a nasty fall on some ice and broke his leg and ankle in several places.  He was patched back together with some added hardware.  Anyways, his body apparently ended up rejecting the hardware and that was taken out about a week ago.  Things have not healed as planned.  He went back into the hospital last night and has been on IV antibiotics for the last 24 hours and they are not working as hoped.  The doctors are considering another surgery tomorrow morning if things don't improve through the night.  My friend is worried that he might lose his leg.  I have no idea if that is a logical fear or not.  Anyways, please pray that his leg is healed.

Heavenly Father,

You know the difficulty this man is suffering your word tells us that you order our steps Proverbs 16:9. I ask that you bring peace to the heart of this man while he waits to find out about his leg. Father give this man the courage to face whatever the future holds, knowing that your plans in the life of a disciple who puts his trust in you, are always good, because you are a faithful God. Thank you that you care for him, love him and treat him as your child.

In Jesus name, amen.

Thank you all for your prayers.  The doctors seemed to have figured out what exactly the infection was and gave Alex a few rounds of very targeted antibiotics that seemed to have done the trick.  He is out of the hospital and is able to walk without much pain and will be returning to work on Monday.

I should add that after the infection started to subside, the doctors told my friend just how close he was to losing his leg.  Thanks be to God, indeed!
