Once when I was trying to find the BAD JOKES thread, Orthonorm bumped it for me.

Smiley

There are about three threads dedicated to His Royal Highness.

His Most Imperial Majesty, to be proper

His Most Imperial Majesty Orthonorm, Emperor of the World, Master of the Subject People, Ruler of the Universe, Emperor of the Chatroom, and Lord of All The Ukraine

...King of kings, Lord of lords...

I don't think anyone thought he's really 'emperor of the world', either.

I do not know about Bokassa, but the rendition of the second movement of Schubert's Piano Trio in E flat d.929 was perfect. It has the constant beat of mortality, but above it the an expression of great beauty that God allowed us to feel no matter how dire the situation.

I think fail may be the win here.

EXTERMINATE!

« Reply #57 on: September 28, 2011, 01:21:37 AM »

One time, back in WWII, when I was captured by the Japanese in Burma, Orthonorm came to my rescue armed with nothing but a heavy walking stick and a division of infantry.

I know what you mean. One time I was sent on a mission to activate a mobile SS-50 ICBM launcher inside the Soviet Union. The object of doing this was to make it look like the reds had started world war 3, so that we could be justified in counter-attacking and wiping them off the planet. We were the best GLG20s they had, and for the mission my name was Emmett Fitz-Hume, and orthonorm was Austin Millbarge. Unfortunately, due to a slight miscalculation we were dropped in Pakistan. Well we were a bit confused, I will tell you! For a while we pretended to be surgeons, but when the son of a village chief died before we could perform an apendoctomy using textbooks as our guide, we were about to be killed! Thankfully some American operatives saved our hides!  Little did we know that they were actually Russian assasains, but thankfully orthonorm noticed the watch on one of them and new it's origin, so we were able to hatch a plan and escape. Well, to make a long story short, we made our way to the USSR, found the missile, pretended to be space aliens, had sex with the russki soldiers, launched the missile, diverted the missile so as to become heroes, and then got to play the biggest game of RISK evar. True story.

Here's a picture of when we were caught by the Pakistani tribe... someone took the pic with an iphone and then uploaded to their facebook...

Looks as if these men are about to be fed to the sarlacc.

Why is everyone acting like this?

It would be better for you if you didn't ask such questions.

"King of Kings, Ruling Over Those Who Rule" was the official motto of the Byzantine empire. As far as I know they weren't accused of blasphemy.

Posted this in another thread, figured I might as well put it here too:

I have never seen one post of yours where you defend your faith.

Honestly, in pointing out the flaws in arguments like this, orthonorm has presented a good defense of the faith to me on numerous occasions, showing that one can be a good Orthodox Christian without totally sacrificing some level of critical thought or a sense of humor. On a forum like this, showing people how to defend their faith well, which orthonorm does in his own special way, is just as important as presenting a defense of the faith to people who disbelieve in it.
Stay awesome, Your Imperial Majesty.
