Actually it WAS brand's idea, since I kept sounding more and more like death in chat, the thread that is. I just came up with the brilliant, attention-getting-via-death-self-mocking diagnosis and told her it was a good idea.

We both collectively felt bad when Father didn't get the joke of the diagnosis.

Pobrecito. I know how that goes. It's one of those days for me, too (seriously, it is horrible today. I walked 3 miles to get to my doctor's office and now I'm practically bedridden for the next few days), but I accepted an unusually large workload this week so I can relax on my trip this weekend.

Hope it'll get better for the time being, a couple of good days coming your way.

Sorry, kind of wanted to kvetch about my health, too. No one loves me enough to start threads about it. Tongue

It is a complete joke!

I've been complaining and what not about being sick. And as Ionnis believes, I derive meaning from getting attention on the board.

Oh forget it, explaining a joke no longer makes it funny.

Thanks for the sentiments though.

This I gotta figure out how to make into a contest . . .

Thankfully, I know enough people who understand something that might seem to many as morbid and perverse is exactly what I find to be fun to hand out the appropriate prizes.

First thing, I have to do is to start wearing a wire.

I pray for more good days and for you to maintain your great strength for the not so good days.  I have two family members with serious chronic illnesses and know how tough it can be.

St Augustine was a genius. His Confessions is indispensable and City of God is a tour de Force...

Wait we are trying to mock orthonorm here...well I got nothing. My girlfriend wants to have another stimulating conversation with him.

More or less she wants an apology from him because she was frightened when the chat room was up.

And find another girlfriend? No way

Pure schlock, add it to the thread. Whoever the iconographer that did this, is just plain terrible. Stupid ecumenism using those hack Catholic artists.

Too lazy to really make this good, maybe another time.

Can we make this a meme please? Let's replace Hyperdox Herman with "orthonorm is dead", a nice play on Nietzche.

BTW, forgot to let you know today, this is great stuff.

The De La Soul Album cover is awesome. Great slept on album.

All very well done.

Based on the PMs people really like the Gebre one. It is good. But really the album cover and the "icon" one are both brilliant in very different ways for my money. Seriously.

You have a real gift.

Thanks for giving me a bit of it.

You really should play around more (not the orthonorm thing per se, but that is fine) with this stuff and share it. You seem to enjoy doing it. I like it.

Not sure about others other than the PMs I got letting me know about this.

Lest anyone think I take offense with any of the above, I absolutely do not.

As I told someone in a PM today, I hope to be long dead before my sense of humor is.

What the hell? You are supposed to be dead, I told that stupid hitman...err hello. Smiley

One of these days I will draw, err write, and icon. I was much too tired last night to make it all Byzantine. Maybe it adds to the schlock I dunno.

And speaking of schlock, I'd pay money for one of those "iconographers" to write me a custom one of you. Would provide endless lulz.

I still think my orthonormheadexplode.gif is the greatest gift of all and it keeps on giving.

See I wouldn't mind parodying a few other folks on the boards, but I'm not sure what sense of humor they have.

There is such a wealth of material out there, one of these days I will finish up a large OC.net art project.

EDIT: If I have some effort, I might make a few animated gifs.

It'sa whole thing.

Some schtick of mine and educating our dear Nick on the memorial fads of US urban centers.

Maybe we'll talk about it some time. One of my brilliant ideas that invariably center around my death. I lose track of them.

Glad some people remember them for me.

Good night.

I tell you, I would love to have that De La Soul riff on a tee. I don't get graphic stuff ever. Always liked that cover. We have to figure this out.

Awesome stuff.

For a second, I was like, oh great there is some uglier version of Eminem getting popular or something . . . I clicked through your PM so I didn't see what thread it was.

When I realized who it was, I was relieved.

that most lovingly-hated community in which you reside.

I had to go there for work a couple weeks ago. I overheard the words "please don't shoot that white boy" in a conversation that I walked past, made me think of that quote by Gen Mattis...

I think its rather brilliant, and I wish I posted this in light of something that happened a few months ago.

Oh well. And this is seriously one of my favorite movies ever.

Digging through some old downloads I have on my harddrive, came across this gem I totally forgot I was working on. Quick draft.

I think its rather brilliant, and I wish I posted this in light of something that happened a few months ago.

Oh well. And this is seriously one of my favorite movies ever.

EDIT: HOLY SMOKES DEJA VU!!

LOL! You are a trip!

I dunno that shop he did of Akimori took like 20 minutes and it was really brilliant. Like bordering on real design. Too bad, akimori can't enjoy a little jab in the name of love.

Achronos has a real talent.

The perfectionist in me will probably want to redo it. I seriously knocked it out in 5 minutes max? Maybe it was 20.

Seriously Nhorm, I bet there is a story of you meeting them for waffles at Dennys 3am or something.

In my humble opinion all OC.net posters are in some sense orthonormians, all their posts orthonormianistic, because each, knowingly or not, professes the not-yet-defunct creed of orthonormianism.

Is this film on blu-ray yet? I've seen it a dozen times and still trips me out.

Never.

All I remember of that group was that they were playing in the background during the scene New Jack City where homeslice1 sees his girl making love to his boy homeslice2.

Of course homeslice1 kills homeslice2 quickly there after crying before and after. Both homeslices Exchanging their motto before the shot rang out: I AM my brother's keeper.

This would be done again in The Wire or close enough.

So that is as close as I got.

I have no clue what I gotta due with Color Me Bad in your twisted head, but I am sure it would be amusing.

When I was satirizing you and Snow above (and really that picture itself has a dozen meanings, a few only to my own knowledge), I recalled one of their photos:

The guy who looks like Snow above, can you believe he was in court last walk WITH A WALKER? He had to bail out of their last reunion.

I had a black friend own ever single CMB album which is pretty funny considering who he is. I Wanna Sex You Up, All 4 Love, and I Adore Mi Amor...classic new jack tracks.

Precussors to the whole boyband thing.

Whenever you talk about your life around hip hop during late 80s/90s, the picture in my head is a red-headed Robert Van Winkle. The fact you have no pictures is so disappointing.

I miss the 90s. I might have to buy a Starter jacket to reminisce.

Are you not familiar with sampling in pop music, namely hip-hop and rap?

If you are open to the idea of mash-ups of songs, I can point you in the right direction.

BTW there's plenty of pop music that rips off each other. Hook, melody, chords, what have you.

Asteriktos' picture still cracks me up. Nhorm's tombstone is going to the tallest in whatever cemetery he gets buried in.

Not only because the epitaph will be broken up line by line, it will cast the largest shadow on earth.

And he will finally be able to darken the door of a university!

The way I am going, I am going to a State pauper's grave with nothing but a GPS coordinate to mark it. Or I think I might be rendered into fabric softener. I like to think in my death I might finally make the world a more comfortable place finally for someone.

Asteriktos' picture still cracks me up.

His one with Tupac was better. Guffaws. The other was a bit too obvious and direct for his typically elliptical mind.

I prefer those slow jamz done like that. R Kelly's Your Body's Calling, now that's amazing even if its only slowed. That Keith Sweat song too.
