Prayers, please
« on: July 05, 2004, 07:08:44 AM » first post! But I've been lurking for a while...

I could use some prayers from you good folks. Not only am I trying to determine if God is calling me to Orthodoxy, but I'm also trying to determine if it's time to change careers. Too much stress, too much time away from family, too little time for prayer and study. Seems like it's not worth the merely material rewards. Play that I may be given some guidance and opportunities.

Prayers!  And welcome into the fray.  ;)
Mor Ephrem is a nice guy.  Just say sorry and it will all be ok. Say I had things that were inside troubling me but I didn't know how to express appropriately. I will not behave that way again but I am seeking help.

...if you feel Mor really is in spiritual danger, pray the Jesus prayer for him.   :police:

My prayers for you, Paul

God bless you on your journey and grant you many years.

Taste and see how good the Lord is by attending a Divine Liturgy.

My Baptist brother recently visited an OCA Church and was pleasantly surprised.

Your sister in Christ,
The memory of God should be treasured in our hearts like the precious pearl mentioned in the Holy Gospel. Our life's goal should be to nurture and contemplate God always within, and never let it depart, for this steadfastness will drive demons away from us. - Paraphrased from St. Philotheus of Sinai
Writings from the Philokalia: On Prayer of the Heart,
Translated from the Russian by E. Kadloubovksy and G.E.H. Palmer, Faber and Faber, London, Boston, 1992 printing.

Praying that you have good guidence & come to Orthodoxy.
Good luck with the changing jobs, am busy doing that myself these days...
Now where were we? Oh yeah - the important thing was I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn’t have white onions because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...
