I want to download an album or two that is on youtube but is out of print and/or can't be bought on CD, and both burn the music to a CD and also put it on my Mp3 player. Anyone know a free downloader I can use? I've tried several from cnet that claim to be completely free, but there's always a catch (e.g. you'll be part way done downloading a song and you'll suddenly get a message that says: "Oops, did we forget to mention that when we said we were free what we meant was that you could only download half a song for free? Please buy our modestly priced $79.99 software now!")

Did you try this? It's what I use and I haven't had any problems with sudden, unexpected costs.

I know you you can download Youtube videos with the site, Voobys.com . Simply replace the "youtube" part of the video's web address with "voobys", then download the clip to your computer. It should be easier to find a free mp4 to mp3 converter.

You can always record from "speakers" instead of mic.

If you have a windows deal, this should show you how to do it:

This is hackish and reliable way of doing.

I rip videos and audio from youtube in with some stuff in OS X.
