Positive thinking gurus ?
« on: September 11, 2011, 12:09:51 AM »
Hello all!

I've been out of work and feeling blue so a buddy has me listening to Zig Ziglar and Brian tracy tapes on "how to be a winner" and "how to be a super success."
I'm all for positive thinking but it seems anti-Orthodox to me, altho both are "christian."
They say I get what I settle for, and if I expect great things they'll happen, and my negative attitude prevents me from getting the work I'd enjoy etc...
I just keep thinking, where's God in all this?
Are these tapes contrary to Orthodox teachings?
Thanks !

I would rather read the lives of the saints than one of those things.  :) Just my take.
My only weakness is, well, never mind

He said he had a horrible house
I looked in it and learnt to shut my mouth

Come back my dream into my arms, into my arms

London is drowning, and I live by the river
