Positive thinking gurus ?

Hello all!

I've been out of work and feeling blue so a buddy has me listening to Zig Ziglar and Brian tracy tapes on "how to be a winner" and "how to be a super success."
I'm all for positive thinking but it seems anti-Orthodox to me, altho both are "christian."
They say I get what I settle for, and if I expect great things they'll happen, and my negative attitude prevents me from getting the work I'd enjoy etc...
I just keep thinking, where's God in all this?
Are these tapes contrary to Orthodox teachings?

I would rather read the lives of the saints than one of those things.  :) Just my take.
He will come again with glory to judge the living and the dead. His kingdom will have no end.
