A plane carrying the Russian ice hockey club Lokomotiv crashed shortly after takeoff near Yaroslavl. Forty-three people were killed.

From the article:
Quote
The chairman of the board of directors of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), Vyacheslav Fetisov, described the air disaster as an "irreparable loss for world ice hockey".

A horrible accident. Hopefully it convinces the Russian charter companies to get planes that aren't falling apart.

Lord have mercy on those who died, and on the two survivors.

Alexander Galimov, who had been a survivor of the crash, has passed away in a Moscow hospital. He was 26. Crew member Alexander Sisov is the last alive from the crash. He is in serious but stable condition.

Short of a miracle, there was no way Galimov would survive his injuries.

May their memory be eternal.
