Friends,
Please remember Stanley Petruzski, my girlfriend's grandfather, in your prayers. He has taken a turn for the worse today. Unfortunately, that's all I know at present. Due to years of tobacco use, he has a 3% lung capacity and is on liquid oxygen and is practically an invalid. He was doing quite well this past weekend, but things seem to have gone downhill since last night. Please remember him and his family in your prayers.
In Christ, Schultz.

Four and a half years later and the old boy is still with us, although it seems that this time he really has taken a turn for the worse. Grandpa Stan caught the flu last week and it appears to have morphed into pneumonia. He apparently hasn't opened his eyes in over 24 hours and everyone thinks it may finally be the time.
Please remember in your prayers the servants of God Stanley, Catherine (his wife), Paula (my mother-in-law and his primary caregiver) and Miranda (my wife who has hard time dealing with death).

Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more. A hasty quarrel kindles fire, and urgent strife sheds blood. If you blow on a spark, it will glow; if you spit on it, it will be put out; and both come out of your mouth

Excellence of character, then, is a state concerned with choice, lying in a mean relative to us, this being determined by reason and in the way in which the man of practical wisdom would determine it. Now it is a mean between two vices, that which depends on excess and that which depends on defect.
