The one in England (hilarious) or the one with Drew Carrey (not so much so)?

Anyone else feeling pretty bittersweet about Matt Smith leaving Doctor Who?

The show is irredeemably bad and I haven't watched it in a while.
How do you figure?

If you're honestly interested in my opinion, I pretty much laid it out here: http://www.orthodoxchristianity.net/forum/index.php/topic,32144.0.html
Hm. Well I count Remembrance of the Daleks as my favorite Doctor Who story, so I guess we just want fundamentally different things out of the show.

If what you want is to watch Dalek/ Cyberman/ <insert cookie cutter villain here> empires suddenly created and then just as quickly annihilated by a lame deus ex machina, over and over again, then I suppose the new series is the best thing in history ever.

Catching up on Da Vinci's Demons; last night's kickoff of The White Queen was intriguing, and I'm eagerly awaiting the return of The Borgias.

Very much on a Renaissance kick. :)

Every time I see Wayne Brady, I think of a group of executives saying, "We need a black guy that isn't intimidating to whites....hey, who's this Brady guy?"

NOTE: Wayne was friggin hilarious in that Chapelle's Show episode...of course Dave wrote his parts so.......

Judge shows? Ugh. Can't stand those, even for the lulz. Is Mathis still on? He at least had some good reactions.

And I'll say, I don't particularly care for the heavy-handed way the writers of Bones treat the sub-culture-of-the-week on the show, but their treatment of the tv judge phenomenon (last season was it?) was nice.

I hate when people call things sub-culture.

Bones is goofy, but I have thing for nearly pathologically literal women who are on a road of discovery toward their emotional being.

It's sorta like looking in a mirror.

It's my mom's guilty pleasure, and it infuriates me. The way she condescends to everyone who doesn't fit her naive idea of what people should be able to do and demands respect while giving none and acts like her little plithy sayings should form the basis of actual behavior and gah... It's Jerry Springer sans humility is what it is.

Add on her being a feminazi and being cynical about every male that gets on the show. I think she is so radically out of touch with reality.

It is the lack of integrity for the sake of entertainment that kills it for me.

For me it's mostly how she hates poor people, who happen to be the sort most likely to humiliate themselves on TV to bypass legal fees. Oh, and teenagers are literally incapable of being honest. I know that whining about that makes me sound like one of those teenagers, but it's not even that, it's how she thinks she's so damn clever whenever she says it and then acts like it's an absolutely binding aspect of reality. And how she doesn't actually seem to get how eyewitnesses work. And all of this is affecting real people's lives and nobody seems to give a rat's behind. The woman is a cancer on the anus of our species.

Hey, how'd you like to sue me sometime so I can tell her all this in person? But with more liberal use of "the c word."

I used to watch MasterChef until I was convinced they rigged the competition for the blind woman to win.  The only TV I watch on a regular basis (besides sports) are Family Guy, American Dad, reruns of Law & Order from the 1990's, Letterman and Fallon.

Believe it or not, the blind woman was the guest person/judge tonight.  I had stopped watching halfway through so I didn't see her eventually win.

In Treatment

Fantastic. Gabriel Byrne gets a chance to act. And Blair Underwood is outstanding. He looks like he has aged two years since LA Law.

Not finished, so not making my final judgement yet, but highly recommend after watching "two weeks" of it.

I tried against my better judgement to watch the reboot of Dr. Who.

I sat through five episodes. Absolutely horrendous.

I could never get past the effects as a kid to watch whatever was on PBS back then, but I tried to like this, as so many seemingly smart people like this.

Gotta chalk folks enjoyment of this up there with LotR, Star Trek and the like.

And listen people, I watched all 10 seasons or whatever of Stargate SG-1 and this was in spite of the fact I was never sure if I even like it.

Dr. Who is terrible. If I watched a few seasons, I could prove it I am sure as this is no matter of opinion but simple fact.

Garbage.

Clear?

And I like mine sort of garbage, just don't tell me this is good programming.

The Daystar network is fascinating. I never really knew this side of Christianity and after two or so weeks I remain at times stunned to see what I do.

I still can get over how they use the word bless. And that is just the beginning. I feel like Jane Goodall.

TV

After having TV for a few weeks, over-the-air programming, I can't understand how most of it garners an audience. I really don't.

Judge Judy and Cops I understand. Life according to Jim, Rules of Engagement, The Big Bang Theory baffle me.

I've watched at least five episodes of these and other programs. I neither laugh nor care about nearly any of it.

How I met your Mother I can see being of somewhat interest, but really I find it more obscene than whatever * considers to be pr0n.

I will wait for the fall primetime stuff before I right off most of humanity or at least most Americans and the British.

Two and a Half Men is one of the worst, most boring shows on television. It's up there with Family Guy when it comes to stupidity. Same recycled format every time; sleep with three women, pack the show with as many vulgar (although admittedly sometimes hilarious) jokes as possible, force a choppy, mediocre plot into all of that and repeat.

Dude, you might be my son after all. Family Guy is unwatchable, but I knew that before getting TV, as some woman made a bet with me about my opinion changing after I watched an entire season.

It didn't. I won.

The funniest thing about Two and a Half Men is its title. I almost always chuckle when I hear it.

My top 3 all time favorite series would have to be Monk, Blackadder, and Jeeves and Wooster.

I've heard of all three but have only seen some of the episodes of the first. I can certainly see the charm in it. At first, I was put off by it being a little hokey pokey, but it is a very likeable cast, especially whoever plays the protagonist.

I've been thinking about the detective genre lately. Columbo and Poirot both play over the air and I've seen the new Sherlock and all three are quite good, but what I've been struck by and have been for sometime are the structural differences between them.
Ignorance is not a lack, but a passion.

I think its time to get this site an Amen! feature. here is God's honest truth being said out loud... Dr.Who is terrible! hehehe yes yes yes absolutely terrible and I have also tried to like that garbage. it just fried my remaining few brain cells.

sorry folks lol
