I'm uh watching, you know, the Walking Dead, you know, Season 2, uh um the commentary on it, you know, and what is, what is, what is, really, you know, frustrating, you know, is how uh, the uh um uh, one guy, um keeps talking, you know, like this? He talks like this, you know? Talking like this. He talks like this, you know, which is, um, bad uh enough, you know, but what is, you know, worse, you know, is that he asks a question of, uh,, one of the other commentators and um, then goes on, you know, for five minutes, you know, blabbering on, and um, and uh, and you know, he blabbers so long before he lets anyone um else um talk, you know? Oh, um, did I mention, uh, that he says "you know" and such a lot? You know?  >:(

So how is The Bible? Any comments from an Orthodox POV?

Email me the answer, 'cause I spent 3 hours on this site today and am now ashamed of myself.

Supernatural is pretty good. The first and second season were best though. The whole demon-angel thing became too repetitive. I liked the classic hunts better where it was a new supernatural creature from some old mythology/legend for every episode.

The Bible series.  Typical Hollywood but good for the novice.

But basically, im a science nut..... I love "how its made", "mega Machines", discovery channel, Ancient digs. etc.  "The Big Bang Theory"

'How It's Made' is awesome. :)

Good TV; HORRIBLE "music".
Besides, after watching that I find we are DOOMED.
Can't "make" anything without machines anymore, no?

Really enjoyed the three seasons of DOWNTON ABBEY and the attitude of the Grand Old Lady. She had the best lines.

Finished watching first two seasons of HOMELAND off of Comcast. Enjoyed it but it sometimes was to adult.

Don't think Great Lent supports WALKING DEAD.

I have been watching the new series "Vikings".

Normally this would be right up my ally. It's just barely good enough for me to tvo and watched when nothing better is on.

The producers say that they have tried to be as authentic as possible and some of the look they give to a few men are very scary and cool, especially the wild hair cuts. However it really smacks of a video game rather than something completely true to history. The main character's wife goes on raids with them and is a kind of warrior princess type.. I think not

Some of the battle scenes are good enough for the price of admission. It of course makes the Christian victims look like sissies. The Priests are fat and or effeminate. The True Men are the demonic killers...Yada yada.

It's...ummm....fine

I thought the same but it gets better. Ragnar is actually becoming more  respectable and Gabriel Byrne does an excellent job portrying the detestable Earl Haraldson and the women are all  quite beautiful in my opinion.

I also love the way the Vikings question the priests on why their God needs all that money that they're hording at the monastery when  they ransack it  in England. Also the perplexed look on the Viking that points to the curcifix and delcares "Look, their God is dead!".

I think this series is closer to the truth then people want to believe.

I'm still waiting for History Channel to do an indepth mini documentary series like The Bible and The Vikings on some Central & South American empires like the Aztecs or Incas.
Of course the Conquistadors will be your "Vikings" if they do.

I'll have to get that some day.  We don't have HBO anymore, and the Borgias was the only thing we watched.

I just finished seeing Isabel, a Spanish (as in Spain) on the life of the same queen. Excellent.  In the last episode, Borgia shows up as a papal envoy.  I expect he'll pop up in season two.

Hey you two, you both seem somewhat reasonable. If you had to recommend one these cartoons, what would you recommend. I saw some version of Batman or something gets high marks.

I would like some nice story arc. Plot twists. That sorta thing.

Nothing like the Boondocks, if it is like the comic strip, I hate it.

Samurai Jack is good, but for story arcs, I'd go with Justice League. SJ is usually more standalone stories. Justice League had some decent progression and character development, and by the time it turned into Justice League Unlimited had really mastered the art of the season long arc with surprising plot twists and other fun stuff. Also- the Question singing boy-band songs while going about his Questiony business is priceless.

Boondocks is pretty similar to the comic, although focused more on broader social issues than current events. And with more kung-fu. Regular Show is based around surreal and mostly unconnected shorts, so it doesn't seem like your type of thing.

I have a work mate who really is a little depressed that Walking Dead will be gone for so long. She recently went to a convention and had her picture taken with several people in the cast. She also got the fist comic vol.1 for her finacee for $1,000.

I suggested she watch "Sean of the Dead" and "Zombieland" to get her through this. Turns out she has never seen either one.

OMG !!! I assumed everyone has seen these. So if you havent go get them. Both are spoofs and very well done. Same premise as Walking Dead except definitely not drama's.

Do people not from around here really not know the cash register was invented in Dayton?

Since I'm gunning for a career as a detective someday, I've been watching nonstop ID Discovery :)

You're gonna be a monk and a detective? Maybe you should be watching more Cadfael.

Day of the Rose with the great Sean Connery... :)
