I finished the Riches, then watched the first episode of Fraiser before deciding never to watch another episode, ever.

I saw my first episodes of House and NCIS yesterday. Also, Person of Interest and Hawaii Five-0 look cool but I can't find anywhere that show reruns regularly as opposed to once a week.

How did you like NCIS?

Finally finished watching all 6 seasons of the Sopranos. Why do I feel so sad that the end has come when the show gave me nightmares on a regular basis?

I changed the channel to it in time to see people doing air guitar in the aisles to Queen. Awesome. :)

I changed the channel to it in time to see people doing air guitar in the aisles to Queen. Awesome. :)

I've tended to watch the Opening of the Olympics for each Olympics.  This was by far, the very worst Olympics Opening ceremony since I can recall, THE WORST.  Nothing but stupid "diversity" themes, including a glimpse of a homosexual embrace, and a women in a wheel chair on the dance floor.  I'm surprised they didn't sing "kumbaya," because that was the theme of the whole freak'n mess.  Stupid songs I've never heard...  Having James Bond in it was wonderful, but is that supposed to be funny having him escort the Queen by helicopter?  The Brits were supposedly celebrating their history.  Can you believe there was no mention or reference to the Magna Carta?    No mention of "The sun never sets on the British Empire," either.  At least the announcer asked all to rise when Queen Elizabeth arrived.  I'll bet 90 year old Prince Phillip, Duke of Edinburgh, former Prince of Greece, must have said to himself,  "What the he** has happened to this society?  Carrying of the flame was done well, inspiring, by David Beckham, though I'd rather look at his gorgeous wife.  One time I heard "God save the Queen," but shouldn't it have been played around the actual opening?  Why didn't these leftists play the Greek National Anthem, which is always played at the actual opening?  I'm guessing because  "patriotism" is bad.  The "Chariots of Fire" theme song played by the London Symphony was done well, but is that stuff the British comedian was doing supposed to be funny?

The Parade of Nations, with each nation's flag displayed, was the only normal aspect of  of the ceremony, other than the Queen's entrance noted above.

All the choreography was madness.

How is it that American territories get their own teams, like American Samoa?

Oh, another good thing, "Macedonia" came in alphabetically with the "F's," for "Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" (FYROM), which is how their sign read, though NBC just printed "Macedonia" on the screen.  The Greeks must still hold some influence or maybe they traded their national anthem for FYROM.

Maybe if the United Nations had an anthem, they would have played it.

Even one of The Beatles songs, "Come together," fit their silly theme.

I'm waiting for Masterpiece Mystery on PBS to begin in half an hour....Inspector Lewis.

I love mysteries....and the English accent and scenery makes it all so much better.

Love Perot, Miss Marple, etc.

...not to mention Masterpiece Theater - Downton Abbey, etc.

I've been watching the TLC reality series Abby & Brittany.  It's about a pair of dicephalic, parapagus conjoined twins (two heads, side by side, on one body.  The series takes them through college, graduation, and a European trip.

After the inevitable initial double-take, one is surprised to observe how normal they are.  They have distinct, vibrant personalities, and a lot to teach us about synergy.

The Sopranos (Season 3) and Anger Management.

The Sopranos stands alone. It's one of my guilty pleasures. Every season was excellent IMO. The perfect balance of human interest, character development, action, humor, and drama. I'm sure the stereotypes were very exagerrated, but it still rang true on most every level. My only criticism about the show is that were no redeeming characters. That was the only thing that seemed unrealistic to me. There are good people in the world, even if flawed. But all of the characters in The Sopranos were basically dispicable.

When I watched the first two season of The Sopranos, I was in complete shock. I had never watched a series that was so well done. The fact that these characters were so flawed is something that rang true for me. There is no such thing as a flawless, perfect human being. All of us have our faults and this show definitely puts them under the magnifying glass. I think that one of the reasons why so many people can relate to the show is because they see some portion of themselves in the characters. In some ways what the writers, director, and actors have done is to shine a light on human nature at its very worst and depraved. And, after all, isn't that the work of every great work of art? To show us as the flawed human beings we are and to make us think about it?

Indeed, which is what makes it a great show. There was one episode (don't remember which season), where Mrs. Soprano goes to see a lawyer. The lawyer was Jewish and he refused to take her money because it was "blood money." He told her point blank that she should leave her husband and have nothing to do with him or his money. He told her, "One thing you can never say is that you haven't been told." He was the one redeeming character in the entire series. But then again, perhaps that's what made that scene so powerful, the fact that such redeeming characters are few and far between in this world. Evil flourishes because most of us turn a blind eye to it. The Tony Sopranos of the world exist because the rest of us allow them to operate without impugnity.

I've been watching the TLC reality series Abby & Brittany

Speaking of reality shows, does anyone remember Bug Juice? I don't think it was very well known, but it was about the only reality show that I ever thought was good.
