I haven't seen the newest season of Bones. I feel like they left us hanging with Pelant (but maybe they've wrapped that up by now). And it is getting really repetitive. But I'll finish it out eventually.

Did you ever watch all of 30 Rock, orthonorm?

Yes. It had seasons of brilliance and seasons of not so brilliant. The last season was awful. It went the Family Guy route way too much.

While I have some political issues with the show, it cracks me up. The first and third, I think, seasons are hilarious.

I am a sucker for the screwball comedy genre. So yes, everything from The Thin Man to Moonlighting to Bones.

I hate nearly all the characters and actors on Bones (something not uncommon in many shows I like, arguably my favorite show Buffy I hated nearly everyone and the actors for a few seasons). Angel finally learned how to stand in the lighting properly, so I am OK with him now on Bones. But TBH, women like Bones, and I have known one or two, really weigh heavily on my heart.

I've cried at least 10 times in the show. The actress does a good job. Everyone else including the writers are unnecessary. What pile of garbage and has to have had the worst "spin-off" ever in TV history.

The Finder.

Do you mean the crazy cut-aways? I agree, if so. The fifth season and the last are not my favorites, but overall I'm a big fan. I think Alec Baldwin was perfectly cast as Jack. Jane Krakowski is an awesome Jenna. Well, they all are cast so well. I love Pete! His facial expressions/body language is so hilarious to me.

Yeah the stupid frenetically paced cut aways. It looked like they had a budget reduction or something in the last season. It looked more cheaply produced with less real single camera work and they were using "cut aways" to no end other than the stupid sorta gags everyone likes in cartoons.

You might be right about the fifth season, I can't remember, but it happened when they were satirizing the budget cut they had in real life by introducing budget cuts on the show. The single camera work again got reduced and the writing was pretty bad.

Jack is great. Really, that first season is pretty amazing when you think about what they were doing. High quality stuff from the git-go all on the back of Baldwin and Tracy Jordan. The show would make no sense without either of them.

I lost a bet though or something about it once. I figured it had a way better share than it did. After seeing the share it took, I was surprised it stayed on the air longer than a season.

Yeah it didn't have a lot of viewers- I'm also surprised it got to have a full 7 season run. I also thought Sherri Shepherd was awesome as Angie Jordan.

Tina Fey just got another show on NBC, so I'm curious to see how that one will go.

Well, I did like Mean Girls a lot and I did like 30 Rock so although women are not funny, they are capable of creating vehicles for humor.

I saw the Golden Globes for half a second. That stuff was embarrassing. Amy Poehler is a hack one note blonder.

Started watching White Collar on Netflix.  I've liked it through the first seven episodes, but the banter and relationship between Caffrey and Burke starts to get really predictable and old.  I'll continue watching though mainly to see what the deal is with the guy with the ring and Kate.

Finished watching the fourth season of Downton Abbey. Wonderful dramatic series, it takes you back to the early 20th century, which a period of time that I like so much.

I watch too much Daystar if that is possible. Last night there was a new face I hadn't seen. He reminded me a lot of a former oc.netter with less eye shadow:

Anyway, he was in NJ at the Prudential Center (first image). I couldn't make heads or tails first of why all these Americans cared about this guy, but of all the sort-prosperity preachers, he actually made some excellent points and didn't just cruise the Bible verse skipping. As much as I wanted to laugh at his style and content, I couldn't . . .

till he brought up the great shepherds  of these final days or something and mention good ol' Creflo Dollar.

Oh well.

He calls himself Joseph Prince.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Prince

Maybe some really decent basic Christian doctrinal points in his rockabilly cosplay get up or whatever was going on.

In looks he reminds me of the son of The Good Wife. People like him have ruined Protestant Christianity in the south in my opinion. Well, I have not actually seen any videos of him, but these preachers that use the big screen and all the dramatic stuff have turned the south into one big redneck line of shopping centers and fast food joints. Redneck southerners allow Yankees to stereotype us all as backwards hicks and simple minded idiots. Christianity is presented as "Being saved and being Republican. Nothing more. Drive an SUV and don't give money to beggars cause its socialist."

And this sort of Christianity--well it is no wonder the anti-religion folks are so strong in their battle. One guy I like is the guy that does Shepherd's Chapel. It reminds me of the way they did it at my great grandmother's small town Baptist church.

Low church Protestantism at its most vulgar is what these modern TV preachers like Osteen are. At least the old way had a sort of simple charm to it. I wonder if half these preachers can really be called proper Trinitarian Christians--do they believe in the Nicene Creed? Do they believe properly in the Trinity? These non-denominational types it is hard to say.

@Orthonorm: My guess is the reason he draws so many looks is his good looks and charm, which draws women obviously. Do you think he and some of these other preachers could fit the definitions of a sociopath? I read something about how many CEOs and politicians could be diagnosed as sociopaths. Of course I am not sure if that is the official word nowadays. Used to be psychopath, then it became sociopath, and now I think they have complicated with various types and different names.

Anyway I guess I should say what I am watching: Did I say somewhere else The Wonder Years? It's up on Netflix so I started watching it from the first episode. Did you know that Kevin's sister plays that sexy Australian sociopath on Law and Order: Criminal Intent. Anyone know who I am talking about? She killed her daughter and came to America. Killed other people and the only one that was an equal to Goren's mind play.

Yeah, he looks more like he is some sort of magician or teaching some sort of martial art from the pose. Or some character out of some 90s action movie, one of the bad guys. Yeah, I can really imagine him holding some rich guy's girl hostage and demanding he pay so and so or he's going to kill her. And of course Chuck Norris or somebody comes to her rescue and kicks the crap out of this guy.

The Lion in Winter starring Peter O'Toole (reprising his role as Henry II), Katharine Hepburn with a very young Anthony Hopkins and Timothy Dalton.  Classic movie.  No way it could be remade today.  There's no way the actors of today could pull off such complex lines without lots of cursing or match the jabs that Hepburn and O'Toole gave one another throughout.

The first couple of episodes were hilarious. The rest of it is so-so, but I keep watching. When it's good it's dang funny. I'm tempted to get high and watch it, because I can only imagine how much more I would appreciate it. But I gave up the herb a long time ago.

That picture gets no less disturbing each time I see it.

So...I know olympics are on, but who else caught the Perambulating Deceased last night? Not bad.  Michonne proved herself (again, but more so) to be the only suitable breeding partner for Darryl.  Also, 110 oz of pudding.  That is all.

Just watched it. Very Carl-centric, which isn't a good thing IMO. However, I understand his obnoxiousness was a set up for the scenes towards the end, and will forgive him. This time. I really loved the stuff with Michonne, from beginning to end. I will say that the dream/flashback really confused me the first couple seconds though, as I was watching it using amazon on demand and was wondering why some commercial way playing in the middle of the show Cheesy  I thought he was going to write "I win" on the door; I was much happier with what he wrote. RIP Herschel. A bit slow-paced for the beginning of a batch of shows*, and a bit more going on would have been nice, but I'm glad they didn't try to cram any more characters/groups into this one. Just let it be about the trauma and beginnings of recovering... or at least getting up on your feet.

Angel Season 5, for the third or fourth time. Great ending to a series.

It was, especially given the circumstances under which the show ended.

My daughter has a Walking Dead plot theory..

Carol didnt kill those two sick people back at the prison...The psychotic kid Lizzy did ( who we saw molesting little bunny's this episode). Carol is just trying to cover for her.

Good theory, huh?

Nice theory, but it probably violates the 2nd law of thermodynamics.

It would make sense.  I could see either being the case.

Looking forward to seeing the new characters next week.  Last week was definitely a 'build up' episode.  There was some decent meat in this one.  Not as pumped as I was in previous seasons, but still my favorite show since Rome.

So many great parts, but my favorite bit is probably Spike's poetry slam.

My wife picked up some of the graphic novel "sequels" and... let's just say, there's something to be said in favor of the limitations TV puts on Whedon.

"Lizzy"..Good name for a killer

She mutilated bunnies

She nearly smothered the baby

She probably did the rat thing at the prison fence

Let's wait and see

Just started the first season of Dexter. Part way through the pilot I wasn't into it at all, but I think I've come around to liking it. I heard the last season was a let down, but I guess I'll watch it all now.

I really need to unpack my feelings about that girl.

And of course Carol would meet up with Tyrese. Tongue

Marc I've wondered that also. Time will tell, I'm sure.
