I am Bibleman; putting 'the' back in the Ukraine

« on: September 04, 2011, 06:09:42 AM »

A combination of moving out of my mothers's home, starting college, and having my cousin kill himself has really upset my mental and spiritual situations/status(es?)/lives.  I've been having a good deal of trouble praying, and so I would appreciate it if you wouldn't mind squeezing me into your prayers.

Other people will tell you the same, but keep praying, even if you don't feel it's worth doing.

Lord, have mercy on your servant!

That is very sad. <----- hopelessly inadequate, I know.

Lord, have mercy on you, James and on your cousin, too. Such things are very hard to bear. God grant you the strength.

i had to look up the other threads - i see your cousin was very young.
all the stuff about the spiritual state of people after committing suicide does not apply to kids.
kids are not 100% free to make their own choices, they come under lots of pressure from the culture, friends, their wider community etc and the Bible tells us that the kids have angels who 'look on our father in heaven'.
i expect yr cousin is in a better place now, God does not judge kids as harshly as they judge themselves.

if u can't pray, at least read the Bible and fill yr head with good stuff. put away angry music (that applies equally to Wagner as it does to the type of heavy metal with lots of swearing and shrieking) and don't watch depressing movies.
talk to sensible, cheery people, watch nature programs, listen to decent Christian music (not too sugary sweet, i would personally recommend stuff from here: http://tasbeha.org/mp3/Songs/English.html) or chilled out music (classical or 'happy' pop music) and also try to help out people around you.
sometimes focusing on others helps u to get used to all the difficult changes in your life.

may God give you peace and guide u towards a better state of mind.
we are praying for u.

May the Lord have mercy, ease your sorrows, aid your studies and grant you strength to persevere!

We're here if you need to talk.

Thank you all, very much.  I really do believe prayer has an incredible impact, and consequently greatly appreciate that someone would take time out of their lives to pray for me.  Thank you.

If I am allowed to post here , I would like to make a reccomendation from Saint John Cassian to frequently pray Psalm 70:1 :

O God, hasten to deliver me;
O LORD, hasten to my help!
