At least 18 bomb blasts went off across Iraq Monday morning, killing at least 70 people — most of them in the southern city of Kut — in a wave of violence that shattered what had been a relatively peaceful holy month of Ramadan. In this violence Mor Ephrem Syriac Orthodox Church in Kirkuk also destroyed

Lord have mercy. I pray none of the parishioners were hurt.

Lord, have mercy on the parishioners, bystanders, citizens, and the attackers alike.
"O Cross of Christ, all-holy, thrice-blessed, and life-giving, instrument of the mystical rites of Zion, the holy Altar for the service of our Great Archpriest, the blessing - the weapon - the strength of priests, our pride, our consolation, the light in our hearts, our mind, and our steps"
Met. Meletios of Nikopolis & Preveza, from his ordination.

Lord have mercy! May the Lord protect and comfort our brethren! May the protection of the Most Holy Theotokos be with them all! Amen!
To God be the Glory in all things! Amen!

Only pray for me, that God would give me both inward and outward strength, that I may not only speak, but truly will; and that I may not merely be called a Christian, but really be found to be one. St.Ignatius of Antioch.Epistle to the Romans.

Lord, have mercy!
Conquer evil men by your gentle kindness, and make zealous men wonder at your goodness. Put the lover of legality to shame by your compassion. With the afflicted be afflicted in mind. Love all men, but keep distant from all men.
—St. Isaac of Syria

what's amazing about this photo is that nothing in the altar looks damaged, while outside the altar it looks like a war-zone.  I wonder if a miracle happened in the midst of all this destruction.
I got nothing.
