'Playing Jesus wrecked my career': Passion of the Christ actor said Hollywood has shunned him.

I thought this was sort of inspirational. I mean, talk about taking up your cross... and what a beautiful way to do it.

Yes, very inspirational. I am confident that he will receive a reward far greater than a career in Hollywood for the sacrifice he has offered unto God.

So, he has a few millions less, I gather. What a great loss! I hope he'll be put in the calendar for enduring all these for Christ.

IIRC, the British actor, Robert Powell, was reported to have made similar comments about damage done to his acting career after starring as Christ in the 1977 series Jesus of Nazareth.

Even if, materially, he isn't losing much, it's the principle. He undermined his career as an actor to play Christ in "The Passion".

It didn't help Jeffrey Hunter much, either. Lost the role of captain of the Enterprise to William Shatner and died young.

LOVED Jeffrey Hunter in KIK. Shame he died so young.  Cry  Max Von Sydow has done pretty well, though.

I'd much rather have a Jesus movie behind me that i can't shake off than being know for playing a hobbit and not be able to get good movie roles after that.

IF you don't do it now, make sure you do maybe sometime in Lent or maybe in Holy Week.   This could be purely coincidence but I watched it one year during Holy Week and at the Twelve Gospel Matins, everything about God's eternal dispensation towards man, if only for a moment,  was made absolutely crystal clear to me.  Again,  I don't know if the movie had a great effect or if I was just graced by God.

Caviezel was in a small independent film called "Bella" a few years ago.  It was pretty good.

Saw "Person of Interest" and was underwhelmed.  Perhaps it will get better as the writers work on their kinks.  I'll give it another week or so, but that's it.

Very interesting series. Last night, I saw a replay of the pilot which involved a lot of gun battles, killing, and of course suspense.

It is weird, but the twists in the story make it unpredictable.

Are you talking about The Passion or The Thin Red Line?  I think they were talking about the latter.  If the former, then I agree.  The Passion puts a visual on it.  I can take a lot of gore in movies, but there's just something about it happening to an innocent man that gets me.  And there was none more innocent than Christ.  If the latter, skip it.  I think The Pacific was much better, though you will need to liberally use the fast forward button.  Lot's of boring parts.

I'll be honest, I much preferred Caviezel as a chain-smoking alcoholic.
