This was inspired by another thread called "What does evryone look like". In this thread you take a picture of your prayer corner and upload it.

I know there are several older threads on this.  Perhaps that's contributed to the lack of response, but a more updated one could be interesting.  My excuse is that I don't have any pictures of mine.  I'll try to remedy that.

Eh, what if it's not really a "corner" but the entire eastern wall of your room?  Also, isn't it traditional to pray standing up especially when you begin your metanoia's?

Oh yes, by all means upload it. I used the word "corner" because my own "altar" is at the corner of my bedroom.

Don't worry about it. I only have three actual Icons, the rest are all paper print-outs from the Internet, usually I frame them, though.

No man can see mine and live.

Kind of like the Nazis and the Ark of the Covenant "innards" in Raiders of the Lost Ark?

My issue is that when I try to take a photo of mine, my Taboric Light saturates the picture, rendering it somewhat unhelpful.  If only I could be less holy.

Brilliant.  They have it listed as "Uncreated Light" rather than Taboric.  That's why I missed it.  Thanks for the instructions.  Photo forthcoming.

LOL Cognomen, you better post something to get off of 666, or else the Uncreated Light may fade away!

My icon corner is currently in a box, although I want to get it set up ASAP. No idea where to place it yet. We also have to surrender our icons to the priest (didn't learn about the 40 day rule until he told us recently). I'm bummed out. I'm wondering if I could get away from that rule by buying an icon from the Church bookstore and surrendering the rest of our icons for the meantime. Wink

Ah, well. I'll post it when I get it up. A friend might be building me a corner shelf just for our icons, which would be cool.

And yeah, I only have a few. The rest are also framed and printed, just because I wanted to have some of our future patron saints (saint names? What's the official Orthodox term?). I will be looking to buy some more, soon.

Isa, are you taking requests for signed icons? Wink

I actually kind of agree with Poppy...not that it's horrible, but I have an irrational dislike/fear of a large number of small objects grouped together in a small space. I would probably set up several icon corners in the house (is that okay? To put one in the office, in the bedroom, etc.?) But I am not going to knock having all of those icons, if you can afford them and you've been collecting them over the years. They are awesome.

I think it's a great icon wall!

A good reminder of the other world that we don't see.

It's rather sobering to have all those Saints staring back at you.  Keeps you "on track".

I don't see anything horrible.

Mine's pretty sweet. But I can't show it, because that would require me to actually stand in front of the thing.

But in all seriousness, I do have a smaller, more modest one, I do use more often:

That is awesome. I'm wanting to get something going like that in my room. I didn't even realize at first that the wall I have picked out to eventually become my Icon wall is the east wall. It is nice because when I sit up in my bed it is the wall that I face so it would be perfect for night time prayer.

Unfortunately, I couldn't lay out my prayer corner in my room's east wall, I simply don't have that sort of room in my bedroom. Sad

I think my Icon corner is facing south...
