...HOCNA's translation or "Classics of Western Spirituality"? I heard that the former translation was much better than the latter and that the latter translation in fact made the text lose a lot of its meaning.

What are your thoughts?

Excellent.

I also recommend HTM's translation.  You can buy it directly from HTM if you want; they have good service.  Many other online vendors, e.g. Eastern Christian Supply Co., and parish bookstores carry it as well.
