Hello,
I have been going to an OCA parish for a little over a year now.. Vespers only, Sundays I go to my protestant church ...I am not ready to convert but when I am, I am wondering if there exists an online catechism class...the parish I go to does not have any catechumens so I imagine my catachis would be one on one.. I learn best in an online setting...do you know if there are online catchism classes I can take in conjunction with my one on one thing with my priest?
I can identify with your question even though I have never really belonged to any denomination. My calling came at an early age when I sincerely sought to discern and experience the deeper meaning of scripture apart from doctrinal notions or influence. By the grace of God I ended up practicing what I much later learned in The Philokalia to be ascetic and contemplative worship. I won't go into my deep failures but I urge you hold fast to seeking the Orthodox way and become even more grounded in it's fellowship.
Apparently the detailed protocols in Catholic initiation are by nature on a more personal level than a prescribed written description for good reason given the perils of dogma and so as to make even sincere seekers prove there metal through interactive experience.
You are much further along than I, your blog is great!
