Writings of St Isaac the Syrian?
« on: August 07, 2011, 11:23:47 PM »
I am trying to increase my spirituality and enrich my prayer life during the time of this most blessed fast of the dormition. I really enjoy the writings of St Isaac the Syrian. His edifying words always speak to my soul. Could anyone give me links to St Isaac's writings? Preferably for free, on the Internet. I think it will aid me a lot on my spiritual journey during this fast.

Oh, and fwiw, most OOs just started the fast today.

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world." -Jesus Christ

May the 21 new martyrs pray for us all.

Please, remember me in your prayers

Lord, protect Egypt, Syria, Lebanon & Iraq.

Nothing?  ???

I have a volume of his works in my library that was published by Holy Transfiguration Monastery.  I would try to find you some things on Google, but will refrain for two reasons: 1) I assume that you already tried that, and 2) if I were to send you a link that I found on Google, some my consider me Hyperdox  :)
I would be happy to agree with you, but then both of us would be wrong.

Probably not.  But between that and what you game him, he should at least have a start.

Yes, definitely, thank you both.

Father Peter

I just wanted to take the time to sincerely thank you for this English Translation at a very affordable price of the Mystic Treatises.  This work, the translation, has been out of print, or rather was, for over twenty years from my searching for the book. Only a year ago I was considering acquiring a photocopy of this book from HTM which was being sold for $90.00! A photocopy!
Granted the Mystic Treatises is priceless but I cannot tell you how happy I was just this morning to search lulu to check again for this work and see it available for download for so so much less! Over 400 pages of wisdom! THANK YOU!

FYI: The HTM edition should be available within the next month for order.
