1) A guitar. Preferably one of four I own now, but anything will do. My wife has noticed that I get very irritable and nervous if I don't play something for a few days (like when we're on vacation). Having a hard time coming up with the rest of the list. No, really.  |

I'm assuming food, shelter, etc. is a given  1) a computer with internet and a word processing program 2) a large coffee table (I need a lot of work space... or as is more common, a lot of space to store stacks of books and papers that I probably won't use for weeks at a time, but want to have at my fingertips just in case) 3) diet soda (sunkist or root beer) 4) stuff for my girls to play with or do |

Since no one will be holding a gun to my head for this --
1) My Kindle. No, seriously, if I'm picking only 7 things that I can't have, I will go crazy if I don't have an entire library around. Yay, Kindle!
2) Pepsi. No cherry, vanilla, lemon business or any of this funny low calorie stuff. PEPSI.
Like with the widow who gave up her food to Elijah, I want an infinite supply of Pepsi. Elijah, please PM me and I'll give you my address so I can give you my last can and you can make your magic happen. Thank you.
3) One of this ridiculously overpriced blankets from Brookstone. I am building up my collection because I suffer really badly from the cold in winter. Since I have to be careful about how much we're heating up the house, I flop around the house with one of the blankets on me. 24/7. I'm not being dramatic or anything about it.
4) Oh man, I'm trying to pick one TV show and my head is about to explode. For the minute, it's Mad Men. I'm going to go on to the next one before I change my mind on this.
5) A copy of the Bible. Even with a Kindle, I still want a hard copy, because you can't write on a Kindle (well, you can, but.....).
6) Gucci Envy Me perfume
7) And a really good facial and body exfoliant (preferably St. Ives, which is fantastic), because what good is being alive if you have dead skin cells all over you? Seriously.

1. A plunger. The great hope is that one will never have to use it, but don't wait until you need one to own one.
2. A sleeping bag. Who would have guessed that adding a zipper to a blanket would be so useful?

you need one of these HA! My sister and I actually bought a Snuggie one year out of pure curiosity. It was quite underwhelming. Do you know about the blankets I am talking about? You can wrap one around yourself and fall asleep within half an hour, no matter how cold it is. Ahh, lovely! And oh no, I would really want an icon too!  Maybe I can trade in my exfoliant for that. |

As soon as I read the title this is what came to mind. Every time I watch survivor man I always wonder what you use to wipe in the wilderness and I don't think he has ever answered it. Other than TP I think a large knife, Recon Tanto in my case. A good knife is indispensable. Something for making fire as well. I'm not too keen on rubbing sticks together for three hours. I have tried using flint and steel as well as using the sparks from a dead lighter...I don't have the patience for that sort of thing. So I am up to three. Add to this Imodium, some goats, a flintlock musket and a naked cannibal named Friday and I think I'm set. |

Not what I can't, but what I wish:
1 - A reliable, abundant and, if possible, clean source of energy able to feed the following itens.
2 - A city-state with all the comforts of science-fiction (teleportation is a must);
3 - An intelligent but controllable super-computer who actually manages the boring parts of the city-state and can find any information I want;
4 - A population for the city (composed of humans, subservient controllable robots and a couple of mutants for good measure);
5 - Some sort of space travel device, ranging from interplanetary to inter-cluster (assuming we just have one universe, if multiverse is true, than inter-verses should be included);
6 - Something that would actually allow us to be in these places for a long time (no point having access to Mars and dying when arriving);
7 - No escarcity of living resources of any kind;

poppy, how did u manage 554 posts? that's a lot of typing, you must have a secretary! also congratulations for whatever it is in your picture that u r free from. ismiliora, i am also honest with these things, sometimes we think of spiritual things first and sometimes of physical things. Jesus encourages us to ask for both. eg. if u want a job to pay yr bills, that means u r responsible and want to work hard. wanting more unity in the church can be a good thing, or it can be u just want everyone to be united with yr own version of what is right! (i often pray for people to agree with me more!)  personally, i don't think this is a good teaching or preaching method that u describe. i pray u both have all that is good, including work and a good church. may we all get to know God more and more, coz He is the source of all love and goodness. |
