Dear Friends,

In the past week, the Catholic religious goods store in which I work has been robbed twice.  Fortunately, both times the robberies were not violent.  The guys simply came in, somehow opened the register when no one was looking and without being noticed by anyone, and took the large bills.  The first time, we didn't know who it was.  Today, I recognised one of the guys as being in the store at the time of the first robbery, and got suspicious, so I checked the register, found no money in it, told the others we were robbed, and while they called the cops, I tried tracking down the guys, but they had already gotten away.  We told the cops what happened, gave them descriptions, etc., and we will see what happens.  I am afraid, though, that they may have sensed that I knew something was up, so while we've had peaceful robberies in the past week, you never know, there's always the chance that it could go wrong the next time around.  It's almost got me thinking of finding a safer line of work for the next couple of months.  Anyway, I would appreciate it if you would keep me and my co-workers in your prayers.  Thanks!

Lord have mercy
If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, challenge them to a fight. If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, air their dirty laundry. If anyone forces you to go a mile, berate him continually. Give to those deemed worthy (if they pass a drug test), and turn not away from billionaires in need of tax breaks. This is [not] the Gospel.

Lord have mercy. May the store and employees be protected from evil and the thieves repent and repay their debt.

Lord have mercy, save and protect, and bring us all to repentance.
