I'd like to take a bit of a straw poll. How many Pokemon fans here wish there was a main series Pokemon game (not a spinoff like Mystery Dungeon) where instead of turn-based combat, you could directly control your Pokemon?

How many want the ability to carry more than six Pokemon at a time?

Finally, how many wish Pokemon could have more than four moves at a time?

Just curious.

The first one would be nice, the second one I hadn't really thought about, but I agree, and the third one: DEFINITELY!

Anyways, I really wish Sega would introduce another awesome system...it's a shame they stopped their console design and production.
Yeah, I know. The Dreamcast had a lot of potential, too bad it got cut down in its prime. Now, if only Sonic Team could continue staying out the liquor cabinet...

Indeed.

I also wish that cartridges would come back.  But that hope is probably way out of the realm of possibility.
On the topic of the Dreamcast, this is an interesting little speculation piece on how it could have changed the industry. http://www.1up.com/features/what-if-dreamcast-won

I am getting a figure of a video game character, Yuri Lowell of Tales of Vesperia.

One of my favorite video game characters ever.

Well the last patch screwed it up for me and it's difficult to play now, that didn't help!  Cheesy  One of the things that burned me is they said: "oh all the stuff will be there, we just want to make it more user friendly, so some of the data/options will be 'under the hood'". This just ain't so. They took a lot of stuff out, and I don't mean the changes (most of which I'm ok with). But maybe I'm just a sore... um.. complainer? Smiley  It's still a good game overall, and certainly worth the price of admission.

And Risk... ahh, my friends and I used to play that (board version) a couple times every week. We always had to make up new rules though to prevent people from repeating the same strategies that gave an unfair advantage. Great game.

The BBC apparently Googled UNSC for the logo of the United Nations Security Council. However, they ended up using the United Nations Space Command (from the Halo series) instead.

Crusader Kings I is very confusing. The interface is not great. But at least you aren't coming into it with preconceived notions from other RTS's. Really, Paradox historical strategy games are nothing like Age of Empires.

Ah yes, that was one of the main complaints of CKI. You can only learn it by playing it. Start with something easy, like the duke of Flanders or Toulouse.

I 'shadily obtained' (to use the words of someone else) GTA when I was 11 or 12. Then again, I played worse games before that.

Dragon Age III: Inquisition hitting late 2013

...Due out in late 2013, Dragon Age III: Inquisition will run on a new engine, with the team at BioWare using DICE's Frostbite 2 as a foundation. This engine will allow the company to build a "more expansive world" with improved visuals, more "reactivity" to player choices, and deeper customization options...

School assignments have had me playing a few games for my economics class (gotta love the Video Game Design major)- last week it was Sid Meier's Pirates, this week it's Age of Empires II.

Sid Meier's Pirates is one of the best games ever made.  Did you play the original or the new version?  I played the original on the Commodore 64 until the bloody thing melted...which took a couple hours on and off.  Otherwise, the new one is every bit as good as the original, pretty mucht he same thing, actually, except the graphics are better.  (Notice how you could do pretty much all the commands with a keyboard and a joystick?   Wink)

Just played an epic game of AOEII last week.  Straight up epic.  I love me some Byzantines!

I know you weren't addressing me, but I can't pass up a chance to talk about Pirates  Grin  I played Pirates Gold on the Sega Genesis, and then later the newer PC version. Oh, and naturally it was one of the games I got to play an emulated version of on the PC. Back in the day I was also a big fan of Civilization, Colonization, Railroad Tycoon, etc... it's like everything Sid touched turned to gold...

I've never got around to Pirates!

Recently I've been trying to play old PC games that I never got to either because A) I was too young B) Was never a PC gamer, since I only played on consoles

I just started playing XCOM: UFO Defense, but Pirates! has always been on my radar for sometime now.
