I took it down so that my SF wouldn't have a fit and now you've made me put it back I am glad you put it back. We all need to have a laugh and get off the serious stuff now and then! I am an unashamed fan of the wisdom and integrity of Fr. Ambrose. Sr. Margaret's blog is also worth a view. I enjoyed the video of the liturgy in Scotland.

An 85-year-old couple, having been married almost 60 years, died in a car crash. They had been in good health the last 10 years, mainly due to the wife's interest in health food and exercise.
When they reached the Pearly Gates, St. Peter took them to their mansion, which was decked out with a beautiful kitchen and master bath suite and Jacuzzi.
As they "oohed and aahed," the old man asked Peter how much all this was going to cost.
"It's free," Peter replied, "this is Heaven."
Next they went out back to survey the championship golf course that the home backed up to. They would have golfing privileges every day, and each week the course changed to a new one, representing the great golf courses on Earth. The old man asked, "What are the green fees?"
Peter's reply, "This is Heaven, you play for free."
Next they went to the club house and saw the lavish buffet lunch with the cuisines of the world laid out.
"How much to eat?" asked the old man. "Don't you understand yet? This is Heaven, it's free!" Peter replied with some exasperation.
"Well, where are the low-fat and low-cholesterol tables?" the old man asked timidly.
Peter lectured, "That's the best part -- you can eat as much as you like of whatever you like, and you never get fat or sick. This is Heaven."
With that the old man went into a fit of anger, throwing down his hat and stomping on it.
Peter and his wife both tried to calm him down, asking him what was wrong.
The old man looked at his wife and said, "This is all your fault. If it weren't for your bran muffins, we could have been here 10 years ago!"

I took it down so that my SF wouldn't have a fit and now you've made me put it back If you don't want it up, then remove it; the google cache link will either expire after some point, or you can fill out a form to have them remove it in some cases and the link above will expire.

I'd think about it if the 10 years were between 18 and 19; between 85 and 95, not so much. thumbs up on the thread.

Question a friend, perhaps he did not do it; but if he did anything so that he may do it no more. A hasty quarrel kindles fire, and urgent strife sheds blood. If you blow on a spark, it will glow; if you spit on it, it will be put out; and both come out of your mouth

Brilliant and witty! 6. You realise homebirthing, homeschooling and headcovering are good things but you can only take so much wholesomeness before you need a large gin. Is there an equivalent one for the fellas, Sr Margaret?

Steve Robinson at Pithless Thoughts blog does a good line in cassocks, pony tails and beards all of which are good things in their place and have doubtless spawned as many forum/mailing list posts as the above Margaret

Thank you There are lots of different accents in Scotland (thankfully). I am often mistaken for being Irish although never by someone who actually is Irish! As you can tell from the video the celebrant, deacon and reader are all English but we do have two Scottish priests and a Greek one so lots of accents depending on who is doing what. Margaret
