I have heard of this but can't remember exactly.  The video is from Pochaiv Monastery/ area in Volyn, Ukraine.  I think it is a custom in connection with Ivan Kupalo: that is St. John's day recently celebrated.
I will have to ask at church.

Yes, because a lot of pagan traditions have been carried on because they are considered to be part of "folk tradition."  The Ivan Kupalo feast continues to include pagan influence now conisdered to be just folk lore.

Looks completely Orthodox to me. Looks like they are blessing the spring with icons.  Remember me of when we bless the Reedy River every year at Theophany.  I don't see anything "pagan" about this at all.

The opposite.  What they are doing is the opposite of the folklore influenced by paganism.
