Boston Bruins win Stanley Cup
« on: June 16, 2011, 06:28:16 AM »
The Boston Bruins beat the Vancouver Canucks 4-0 to win the Stanley Cup for the first time in 39 years.

Riots broke out in Vancouver after the game. There were none in Boston.

From the article:
Quote
"We never made things easy on ourselves," said Boston's veteran winger Mark Recchi, who had announced at age 43 that he would retire if the Bruins won the Cup.

"It's a hell of a way for me to go out, that's for sure."

Gee, our Binghamton Senators won the AHL Calder Cup (top minor league in North American hockey) last week in Houston, winning game 6, over the Houston Aeros. They had 10,000 at the game in Houston and neither city rioted.  ;) ;)
