The best things in life are not things.

« on: June 12, 2011, 06:51:23 PM »

Often I am tempted with many things.

I struggle with being judgmental towards others, not giving in charity enough, laziness, and faith issues.  Plus many more unfortunately, but those things get me the most...

Most of the times I feel these temptations or even in the act of a sin I try to pray and reflect on how my sins killed our Lord Jesus Christ and how he overthrew the death of sin since he conquered the "death".

I pray the Jesus Prayer and the Lord's prayer to help me to stop the sin in progress and/or temptation in progress to sin.  Often this really does work.  But sometimes especially if I'm angry or the like, its still tough on the struggle.

I need more help though and would love to get ideas as to what others do (especially when not at home or in church).

I'd love to know what works for other people, suggestions, or advice.
Thanks!
