Wikipedia said it's "deprecatory" rather than "indicative." I'm lost on the meaning of that, so does anyone know where I can find the form of absolution in ACOE so I can figure out for myself what is meant?

All Eastern Churches use deprecatory forumlas: "The servant of God is baptized in the name of..." rather than "I baptize you in the name of ...";  "May God forgive your sins" rather than "I forgive your sins..." etc.

I see. That's all I really needed to know, and the only reason I sought out the ACOE formula was because I thought this was some odd thing only they used.

I was under the impression the Slavic tradition of Orthodoxy had adopted, essentially, the Roman form of absolution.  Is this incorrect (I would be very pleased if so)?
