Crucifixion: Jesus is nailed to the cross
Jesus dies on the cross
Jesus' body is removed from the cross (Deposition or Lamentation)
Jesus is laid in the tomb and covered in incense.
Some of these stations are relatively self explanatory. But I would like to know where the non-scriptural parts come from in church tradition. Additionally, are the non-scriptural parts based on shared tradition with the Orthodox church?
