Oh Lord, Save thy people and bless thine inheritance.
Grant victory to the Orthodox Christians over their adversaries.
And by virtue of thy Cross preserve thy habitation.

Generally a pretty crappy show (for what it is), but worth the watch this time for this event.

This Friday 6/18 Met. Herman, the Archbishop of Canada, Job Archbishop of Chicago and the Midwest, as well as Met Vladymir of St. Petersburg ...as well as a number of other Church dignitaries from Russia and the OCA will be visiting Holy Trinity Cathedral in Chicago and St. Joseph's Parish in Wheaton, IL.

This visit is related to the return of the wonderworking icon to Russia. It was smuggled out of Russia during WWII and has been at Holy Trinity ever since. The priest who smuggled it out eventually was named Archbishop of Chicago.

I watched it this morning, it was at the end of the program, a mere 3 minutes, they gave more to time to the RC abuse scandal :'( & upcoming Bishops meeting in Denver.

Also, did you notice that they said the Russian Orthodox Church was returning the icon?  I did e-mail them and set them straight on that.
