Prayerful hope for unity with our OO brothers.  May we all be one Church officially soon and partake of a common chalice together.

Men may dislike truth, men may find truth offensive and inconvenient, men may persecute the truth, subvert it, try by law to suppress it. But to maintain that men have the final power over truth is blasphemy, and the last delusion. Truth lives forever, men do not.

Also prayerfully hope that the Bishop of any particular city give up his claim of universal jurisdiction and accept Bishops from all other cities and ethnicities as equals.

LOL! Tuesday was the 24th May here in the UK. It may be different wherever you are!

The meeting was especially concerned with how we moved forward and developed this opportunity between our communities here in the UK.

There was a report and discussion about the important visit of Pope Benedict, which had value for all Christians in the UK as it was a clear reminder that we are still a Christian country to a great extent.

There was a report and discussion about the continuing situation in Egypt, and in other places in the Middle East.

We also discussed plans for forthcoming activity over the coming year or so. This will include taking a theological theme and presenting it from the point of view of our two communities and then considering how we understand each other, where points of difference remain, and what these mean for our fellowship together.

It was a fruitful meeting, not just a talking shop. It was well worth attending.
