The couple from the parish are alright and coping well, their house wasn't on the side of town that was hardest hit.
However, the brother of another parish member, as well as his brother's wife and kid completely lost their cars, their house, and their pets. They are alright, apparently his brother shielded his wife and child from the storm and took a pretty good beating (but he is alright). His mother had a really rough night, as they found the house absolutely destroyed and were unable to find any signs of life (but they finally found them in the hospital).
Apparently a Protestant church was having services (it hit at about 6:00pm) and someone burst in and told everyone it was coming directly for them, and they prayed until it passed (no damage to the church) and the church served as a place of refuge and a base of operations for aiding the surrounding neighborhoods.
So far the death toll is at about 90 and it's climbing.
Lord have mercy on all in Joplin and all the families effected!
