I Personally prefer the original Arabic version: http://youtu.be/S-zKSD3WdawOne suggestion though, if you're the creator of the video, why don't you use Orthodox icons of the Theotokos, they will be a better match. |

The original is not Coptic? The original is Arabic, it is a relatively new spiritual song. It's worth mentioning that this is not a liturgical hymn, though it can be used in the glorification of the Theotokos, specially during the fast of the dormition of the Theotokos and during the month of Kiahk. |

You are correct about the recording quality and its negative effect on the general appreciation of the song. However, What made me make this statement is basically my appreciation of the original lyrics, as you may have noticed, the English version is not a literal translation, rather a loose interpretation. In my opinion, in the translation process, the song lost its flowery elegance associated with the Arabic version. I also have to say that some parts sound unnatural to my ears specially when words are stretched to fit the tune. |
